The shorts always go away after a rebalance give it 10/14 days, and if there is no news (5%) they will be back to push us down again. (look at the pattern on any chart, mark on the GDXJ (Dec/Mar/Jun/Sep and you can see it for 5 of the last 6 rebalances.

It is a perfect time for them to buy back some shares usually.
