Duly Noted Calamari, cheers. - I am a noob here stumbling across this site only a few weeks ago. who may have missed that between the plethora of posts, bickering and general name-calling that has been filling what must be the most active board on this site.

The issue isn't with the what will happen, It's with the How...

"Shareholders" in certain cases, (HL) are not actually the people that own the shares, but, in this instance and for the purpose of the vote, it appears that it is the agent that purchased them...
It's the platforms (HL) that are getting a SINGLE vote representing EVERY "shareholder" where we all believed that we were the individual shareholders. and thus had a Shareholder vote each...

The single share vote remains unaffected.

Waiting HL clarification also.

They are probably wondering why everyone is trying to reject the offer. - does NO happen often?

With HL it comes down to what account type you have.

I have a share save account, so the below applies to me ( I pasted it here last night)

What does it say on your HL message? - Shoot them a message, they a quick to reply and will clarify your situation.

Let us just hope that most people with serious numbers are not holding in nominee accounts...

I am share/save with HL, my shares are combined with others.

"Please note that as your Shares are held in a pooled nominee account in the name of Hargreaves Lansdown, your vote will be amalgamated with those of other Hargreaves Lansdown clients. Each Share you vote on will count towards the total vote; however, the Registrar will treat Hargreaves Lansdown as one Shareholder for the purpose of the vote.

I am at the other end with not much compared to some peoples losses, but none the less just had 2 years of savings wiped, I have shifted some of the shares, to save something, but they got a FAT NO from me...

well, this sucks...

I emailed HL, and this was the response as a heads up.

“Thanks for contacting us.

“We are due to send out more information surrounding the SXX corporate action announcement this week.

With this in mind all the information surrounding the option to vote for the proposed takeover will be included in this email.

In the meantime if you have any other questions, please get back to me.

I'll take that as a top Tip... As i have been waiting for another share to sort itself out and was thinking about dipping my toe here... (Noob). I'll sit on it and see how Monday pans out first... (pun intended!)

I just read through the takeover code. (new to me - Bonds holder info, (guessing different to a shareholder?) - i have to say there are a lot of fingers and companies with names that i have not heard of in this crusty pie.

Is that normal? Bidco, Cazenove, Lazard, BNY Mellon. what is their interest in all this? i know i have only been here a week or so, but this is the first time their names have come up IIRC.

Nick, Me too, When the vote happens, you should receive info from where you got your shares.

I looked at GGP, (JAY too) but i have been so badly burned by this experience not sure i want to play around with small caps anymore, not that I have any capital left for anything else. but I am holding because I am curious with how this debacle will play out.

Thank's everyone, I appear to have sparked some debate, to say the least.

Just wanted to say thank you, I stumbled on this page trying to find out what was going on with SXX.

I’m a noob when it comes to shares, and have been slowly buying through a share save scheme, I’m now up to 9000 odd shares (go me!).

I know am a minnow compared to most, but I saw the ShareSoc mentions and have joined up to their page.

My initial though was just to accept the offer when it comes through, but I can see that a lot of posters here are not willing to accept.

To Me. That seems a little silly as we could loose everything, but, I am willing to listen to the WHY we should vote no.

I just don’t understand why...

So in laymen’s terms, why should I consider voting no...
