Why the delay?

US debt used to be held mainly by other countries such as China. Now it's held by pension funds and the like who are a lot more fickle and short-term. The US is a house of cards and other western nations are close behind.

I didn’t want the vote to fail and tried my best to promote it, but the mood music has been against the deal from the start and then GTE shares took a dive. I held over 2.5m shares so the uncertainty was placing too much pressure on me with retirement looming. I sold out.

A story while we wait.

During WW2, Charlie Munger (of Berkshire Hathaway) worked in military operation reviewing weather forecasts. The idea was to make sure that the weather was safe for whatever military operations were going on. This was a big deal because troops could die if they were landing on a beach in the middle of a storm.

Charlie turned the task on its head. Rather than looking out for good weather conditions he asked the question ‘what weather conditions would kill the most soldiers on our side for a particular operation.’ He then knew what to avoid.

With I3e, I stood to gain about £30k if the deal progressed. But what would be most damaging was if the deal failed. The SP would crater (IMV) and I’d loose over £100k. According to Mungers logic I should sell to avoid this danger.

Well I didn’t vote for them. I would say that I also didn’t vote conservative either. They have been equally useless.

Court meeting 1pm today.

I assume they have enough votes to cross the line, the price is still up; no one knows though.

It doesn’t matter what value we, or Simply Wall Street or the brightest analyst at LSE ascribe to HBR, the value to Joe punter is £2.825.

The LSE has undervalued stocks for a very long time as investors chase the Magnificent 7 bubble. It’s frustrating I know, but as we lament our undervalued LSE stocks, there are opportunities to buy at Black Friday prices and feed off the dividends until the markets rotate.

IMO investors are slowly recognising the cheapness of LSE stocks; the rotation is happening. Patience required.

I added CLIG LGEN and HBR to my portfolio yesterday. I also added to my Royal London Short term Money Management fund - 4% on cash essentially; and a monthly return - just in case the market falls out of bed.
