Pum: what do you mean the price is wrong? Thst is what they are worth...if they were ridiculously cheap, more people would buy them. That's how the market works.
Steveo:
yes...i'd call it c.5:1 now (hopefully a little shorter), if the odds were much shorter the SP would be c.30p.
Stevo: "The market is factoring in quite a low probability of Sealion being sanctioned...." unfortunately - 100% correct.
And I presume that is only Sealion...Isobel and whatever else is down there will dwarf that. Surely the obnoxious Moody is pointing that outing any conversation he's having???
It's the pie chart with Sea Lion being the biggest single piece that is striking?
Mogger....what a lad! this Italian fella sounds very defeatist and looks like he's getting his excuses in early! fingers crossed....
Ralph: "the world has been a lot hotter in the past"!!!!!!!! but there were NO humans around at that time! FFS - we are truly fuked.
This from a credible source attached:
Models predict that Earth will warm between 2 and 6 degrees Celsius in the next century. When global warming has happened at various times in the past two million years, it has taken the planet about 5,000 years to warm 5 degrees. The predicted rate of warming for the next century is at least 20 times faster. This rate of change is extremely unusual.

LTT: great summary - surely we're also due some fking luck!!!!!!
I don't think you'll find one world leading climatologist suggesting the use of fossil fuel is the sole issue that needs to be addressed in humans usage of the planet's natural resources. You certainly won't find one using one year's data to prove anything - climate is measured over centuries and millennia - not one year.
On a personal note - i'm not advocating a complete lifestyle change to our way of life....we just need REDUCE (not eliminate) our wasteful use of said resources....is that too much to ask of modern people?
We need to get back to the Rock and that curly headed twt!!!!
Mike
You've just proved my point...at no point did I say ALL science is fact. Again, you're confusing theory with fact.
Fact: global warming is happening. It's very simple, look at any chart for the last hundred years of the Earth's temperature- it is rising. That is a fact.
Theory: why is it warming? That is the discussion point...and as you correctly point out, there multiple contributing factors inc. The Sun/cyclical global issues etc. One factor is man...but as you point out, we dont know what percentage we have caused. Probably in single figures, but that can make all the difference and its the only thing we can influence. No one is expecting us to just stop using fossil fuels in one big step...but we have to reduce our use of it gradually.
The internet has provide a platform for morons who post nonsense day in day out. A fact is a fact. The fact some people cant tell the difference between a fact and theory shows you how stupid the are. The planet is warming...that is a, very simple, fact.
Bloo: the fact you were delighted at how many ticks you got tells a story in itself - then you posted from that crank:
"(and global warming) is the biggest fraud ever"....FFS - that "fraud" is a scientific FACT. End of.
The only issue is why has that rise happened so quickly (in historical terms - as the planet has warmed and cooled throughout billions of years...but never in such a short time has it risen this rapidly), what part did we (humans) play and what are we going to do to try and address it.
LTT:
I'm positioned right with you - i welcome as much use of renewables as possible being a realist and realising we have to move away from carbon (even though I've got these/RDSB/BP!!!) - but think the transition is going to be far more rocky (pardon the pun) than the World leaders think. Just think the chances of the loan guarantee are now zero - the politics just wont allow it. However - we're going to use oil for decades and the supply squeeze could (should?) get us over the line yet.
I agree LTT....the news doesn't:

Some respectful posters being very cryptic?
Hull (why bootlegger?)...no prediction - been in for 10 years and more from DES days...been let down far to many times to be taken in by some lunatic starting a rumour.
not a chance...
Cheers Moggs...So why isn't it listed? has the application been withdrawn to be amended?
Great find (as always) Moggs - have I missed something though? I thought the beauts at PMO had already applied for UKEF?
Mark 1: Hit's the nail on the head...especially this:
"There was also the announcement that actually, PMO can't meet the deal that RKH signed up to. How that is even possible without RKH suing PMO in to the ground and getting the agreed percentage stakes back is beyond me, but our BOD bent over and just accepted that they didn't need to meet the original agreement !?!? How this happened still puzzles me, as any competent board would have challenged this much more aggressively."
I've asked that before - why didn't our company sue PMO? we know the answer - that obnoxious twt Moody didn't want to jump off his gravy train...
