We don't have private railways in this country as they are tac payer funded, a necessity due to inept management and excessive wages for unskilled staff who are highly unionised. The row over who opens the door and strike sums the whole industry up. Without the annual tax payer bailout it would rightly fail.

I am not saying everything is the EUs fault read what I write, but whilst stay in our economy will be undynamic, high tax, high regulation, big government, big buteaucracy. We need to increase productivity and growth by hugely cutying taxes, making government smaller and reducing regulation hugely. Then we can easily get back to 4% annual growth rates.

And the railways are a classic example of a nationalisation gone wrong. The big 4 cartel was created by government in WW1 then the idiocy of nationalisation in 47 created the disaster of British Rail. We now enjoy the worst world of private sector and public ownership. Excessive wages and backward working practices mean that railways are out of the reach for anyone but those on higher incomes.

That is just an argument for the big business status quo whereby the elite will get richer and the ppl in the middle will see their living standards eroded by the rise of China. You may be an accountant but no one was putting solvent businesses to the sword under Mrs T. We simply stopped subsidising inefficient industry. Are you suggesting we should still expensively mine coal and pay their inflated wages whilst they bring down governments. No we need to change things, and become more dynamic. Simply sticking with this big government and culture of bureaucracy will only see our influence eroded and living standards fall. The EU is just a protectionist bureaucracy, we need out and yes there are many other problems. Neither are we as bad as you suggest and we can certainly prosper. We do many things brilliantly.

Rubbish no one crushed this industrial base except lazy trade unionists and incompetent bosses. The decline started post war with the mass nationalisations. If our industrial base had been efficient we'd still have it. The only bit that remained were the decent bits like making F1 cars. So cut the Thatcher killed the industrial base crap, socialism and lack of productivity killed it.

You are argueing for a strict EU protectionist hierarchy in which unless born in wealth it privelage rising up the hierarchy is almost impossible due to excessive taxes and the crowding out of enterprise by big government and large corporates. In the UK the ppl in the middle pay for the stupidity of the great and good and for the benefits classes. The EU membership is merely another string in the protectionists bow and a control mechanism. At least getting out we have a chance to drastically alter the hierarchy but hugely cutting taxes and adopting a Singapore model. Ppl in Singapore ain't much smarter but their GDP per capita is 50% as they don't have big government crap like the EU etc. EU exit us just the start of ordinary ppl controlling the out of control elite.

JMO most of what you say is correct however the conservative may actually pick a conservative to lead them next time. If JRM is chosen which I think is the most likely outcome I think fall back in line as he is no turn coat. I know someone who is very good friends with Jacob and even he as a remainer thinks he would be an excellent pm.
