I don't think ppl should dance in the streets about belgrano the loss of life was tragic. But it was the right decision. It saved many British lives and put the Argentinian naval fleet back to port. Ppl meeting in Poland have struck a daft accord that will make the world poorer and dirtier and threaten natural habitats. Their obsession with co2 means we'll be destroying even more natural environment in the name of bio fuel. That policy has many opportunity costs. First that land can used to grow food to feed ppl, second you could preserve more pristine environments if you weren't growing bio fuels everywhere and third it's not reducing carbon in any meaningful way anyway. Might be better if we focused on maintaining pristine environment, cutting use of plastic and just generally being more efficient. This might mean not flying bureaucrats unecessarily to Poland for meetings like this.

JL on Obamacare it was an honest attempt to correct a market failure in us healthcare. The failing in Obama is that it is carried out with sticks rather than carrots and it doesn't promote competition in healthcare. If Congress can sort these two things the good things out of Obama care with more being civered might be retained.
