That doesn't surprise me at all, it has become very expensive in its 200/250g size. Remember Coke brought in a 1.5l bottle when the 2l became so expensive, also lots of beers and lagers are now in cases of 18's and 15's instead of the once universal 24's.
I'm so old i can remember cadburys from the early 60's when you could buy 1d, 2d and 3d bars. A real bar of CDM in foil with a paper sleeve for 1d - do you remember the good old £/s/d or are you far too young? - that's less than 0.5p in todays money!!!
Am going off now to reminisce about all the good things from the 60's and 70's, sherbert fountains and penny liquorice, Aztec bars, Ice Breaker, all those wonderful penny sweets. If you only had 3d or 3p you could just buy 3 sweets for a treat, nowadays it's £1.99 for a 200g bag or go without!!
