I think Fat Freddy was referring to the fact that divs received inside an ISA do not count towards your income for the year and are therefore outside of your personal tax calculation, not that you could recover the tax credit. Fat Gordon Brown even took reclaiming the tax credit away from pension funds, which has been one of the main reasons most pension funds have performed so badly ever since. ATB.

The so called experts - and Levelup - have been trying to force or wish this one lower for months with absolutely no success. With no news your guess is as good as the next man's, but i for one will be staying on for the ride. Results are due towards the end of April, maybe they will give us a clue as to the future direction of the price of CPR. Don't think we'll be seeing Levelup's 50p any time soon though!! ATB.

Of course you can hold as many as you like outside of an ISA. This share is never going to make you a massive capital gain, and you can always sell just enough every year to use up your £10k+ allowance. What is more relevant is how much you are earning elsewhere, as to how many of these you can receive a div from and stay under the 40% tax threshold. If you bought £300k's worth of these you could expect to receive an annual income of £17k. The only thing i would add is that if you were thinking of investing that sort of sum in shares to provide an income then split it between 5 or 6 shares each yielding around 5.5% to minimise your risk on just one share. As well as FatFreddysCat's suggestions the other utilities are good yielders, my favourite is NG.

Good post. Viennese truffles are certainly my favourite, but i haven't noticed a change in their taste over the years. Maybe my tate buds are past it!! Othewise you raise some very good points. Especially about the milk chocolate. Theirs can taste too continental, which i do not like. ATB.

Maybe with their margins being squeezed they will change from the friendly store of old. And would not be at all surprised if the Debs offer is a better deal, if they have to sell cheaply thru the big chains their shops will suffer. Shares rose on vague rumours that its 70% stakeholder GDF Suez could soon make a move for the rest of IPR. Although Espirito Santo noted that the lock-up from the original deal does not expire until August, it pointed out that the small print means GDF is able to try and buy the stake earlier. IPR Change of Executive Director. 16 December 2011 – International Power today announces that its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Mark Williamson will step down from the Board of International Power and leave his role as CFO at the next AGM on 15 May 2012 in order to take up a position in GDF SUEZ reporting directly to Isabelle Kocher, CFO of GDF SUEZ.

As he made £1.5 mill on the sale, and any extra would have been reduced by tax, i don't suppose he is really bothered. It's only small change Lucky B!!! How the other half live Eh?? After seeing this stay around the 325p level for the best part of a year after the merger and special div, nice to see it breaking out above 350p. ATB.

Guess deep down i'm really a Cadbury's DM boy at heart. Used to be my treat as a little lad, i can remember the 1d, 2d and 3d bars. If you nibbled slowly you could make a 1d bar (sliver) last all the way home - and i had over a mile to walk home from school!! Agree with you on the marzipan front, and i love fudge - my Dad's favourite - but if i never had another choc from a box i wouldn't mind. Never been a great lover of all this praline and ganache stuff. Would rather have a Crunchie!! As for a buyout i can't see it. Cadburys yes, as their countlines are everywhere, but who is going to take on a retail chain in this climate?? Must admit i'm a bit confused about their buys, thought it may have some sort of share scheme ending, but a bit of research has shown nothing. Time will tell. ATB.

PSN to return 1.9 billion pounds of surplus cash to shareholders. The York-based company said it would return the cash through dividends over nine-and-a-half years, starting in 2013!! So that's us locked in until 2023 if we want to see our share!!

I do not take any pleasure from people losing money, we just have different views on this share. I saw Harris's purchase as a signal to buy and took the opportunity to top up my holding. Afraid i don't buy into your great conspiracy theory - a common view on these boards when someone calls it wrong!! - nor do i rate Harris and his mates as mugs. It's his company, he should know it's worth better than anyone. I have actually met Lord Harris on a couple of occasions, and believe me he is no mug!! Do you have any evidence to back up your claims of a conspiracy? Remember retail co's are struggling at the moment, people sell out on bad news, great time for the MM's to buy them up, and then sell them back for a profit when the markets realise things aren't as bad as they seem and the buyers come back. Expect to see this staying around the 700p level until Lord Harris decides what he wants to do with CPR. If he takes it private i will be happy to take his money for a nice little profit. ATB.

No manipulation going on here. Suggest you just mis-read what was actually happening here, and allowed other de-rampers to influence your decision. I did point out over 2 months ago that Directors had been buying into this. Don't think they would have done so if the predictions of 300p had any chance of being correct!!
