The point being made in my post was that there's a confidence from a high level towards achieving the conditions for the re-introduction of regular Dividends, with all the additional benefits that would entail. As I stated, I certainly don't anticipate any negative outcomes as experienced in 2012, but a steady 'eventual' recovery towards historic high price levels.
Lamprell are running a very tight ship now and for reasons beyond the immediate discussion matter, I'm very comfortable owning this particular stock & in line with my own investment criterion.
Sheffieldowls, I also effectively retired in my mid forties and having come to the same conclusions regarding investing (applying certain parameters in choosing the stocks in the first place of course).
David Thornton from 'The Penny Sleuth' bemoans missing out on a circa 20 bagger in ASOS whilst still getting a good ROI. I look back and note how i took a decent 700% profit on a particular stock, albeit retaining the holding would have seen a circa x75 increase at todays SP & over the course of 4 years - lesson learned (for me) & in no way decrying any one else's approach or suggesting such a rise for Lamprell lol.
I'm still looking for something to 'occupy' myself, so may well take a leaf out of your book & sample the delights of the USA on a regular / seasonal basis - I always have liked the Yanks anyway ;)
