Trolls , investments and cineworld14 Nov 2021 22:25
fresh week loomimg which I'm sure will bring the current trolls to our board.
So before we get hit by their negative attitude I'd like to share where my personal mindset is. And share where I believe the trolls make one huge mistake.
For the avoidance of doubt. While I call my investment (at the moment) a failure, that doesn't mean in anyway the company is. They are two separate things which many trolls treat as ONE.
Treating it as one in my opinion is the mistake , and treating as one is what they want US to do, I say my investment at the moment is a failure. I have been here 18 months and down on my investment by 14% , it’s that simple ,nothing to celebrate right.
However, if I invested 6 months later in the November I would be sitting on over 300% profits which some here are,for them its been a roaring success!!!
However invest 4 months after the happy investors then your 8 month investment would currently be a catastrophe and sitting at approx 50% losses , my point we are all at different investment journeys right now not as one.
So if like me your investment is down DOESNT mean the company is as the trolls want you to believe, so I will revisit why like we have done many times before.
OCT 2020, Cine shuts its doors and remains closed for 8 months.
Real threat of Cineworld surviving, major liquidity needed.
No vaccines for the virus which is taking on the world and winning.
The deadly Kent variant with daily cases of plus 60k and 1600 deaths looming
Films and studios not working together, streaming becomes a real threat, cineplex threaten court
Social distancing and masks become the new normal.
Basically life we once knew completely gone causing many businesses’ to shut shop for good ,leaving us to wonder when will we reopen again and at what cost.
Fast forward to Nov 2021
Cineworld now fully open, going through managed stages with social distancing and limited capacity making it at first impossible to fully operate.
A better run company after renegotiating all its costs.
A film slate that we can now enjoy with big movies regularly.
Theatrical windows back, the threat of streaming no longer the threat it was after failed attempts to go alone, I look at the pay out to Scarlett Johansson as an example
Plus 90% of country vaccinated and now boosters given to 10m plus with 1 of 5 approved vaccines.
There is many more success stories’ I won't fit in this message, but I leave you with this.
Sure we are in a unresolved court battle, we are in a lot of debt which needs to be paid , but when you Consider the obstacles, issues and threats Cineworld has faced since the pandemic began, no-one on this board can say we haven't made and continue to make huge progress.
So I look at my current loss which I believe will be profit soon and refuse to believe its down to Cineworld’s progress. At this point it was just my timing of my investment. I continue to hold my shares while this recovery continues
Have a good week all
