Sell Kenya sell Uganda. Lets get 75kbpd with just $800 million debt then tell me if you can find a better e&p out there.

GKP has 200 million cash , 4 months payments due = 70 million , 100 million debt. 40,000 bopd with 55,000 projected for Q3 2020. thats phase 1 production . and a 5-7% dividend. P2 reserves to last 3 or 4 decades at that rate .

North Sea is hot , should be no problem farming down Shetlands drills if they cant go it alone. cairn , pmo , tullow ( they should have more nth sea exposure imo ), rockrose , enquest, spirit , valor , siccar pont , ithaca , etc

the Shetland licenses are the real jewel here...in my opinion. major operated oil fields either side of the prospects. Scheihallion field etc . Hurricane to the south. TC was forward thinking when securing these

They are still retaining focus on 2 area in west africa I think - 1 near shore Congo bloc and the Etinde area which is v close to Towers Block. so a possible partner for Thali . 800 million to spend , already a partner in S Africa and TRP dont need that much money to proceed with Thali

Spirit dont need Tullow but a combined entity would make a serious UK mini major company comparable to an Anadarko with a huge safety net of circa 60% North Sea production , 200,000 bopd , > 500 Million p2 reserves , 1 Billion combined FCF , a big stake in Hurricane Energy + all Tullows upside including potential Ugandan windfall + Frontier elephant hunting exploration worldwide.

If TLW were to realise 900 million from Uganda , and if I was a board member - id be lpushing to add some North Sea acreage like the old days. Maybe some Shetland area licenses. Maybe a T/O of a minnow. Or merger of sorts with a less leveraged Nth Sea player . It was southern Nth sea Gas acquisition that laid the foundation for the African ventures.

Tullows been unlucky i think , should have had a major cash boost from Uganda long ago and they woudnt be in this mess - after all they did discover the oil and set Uganda on its way to being a producing nation. Tullow were well regarded in Africa.

Horrible day for holders. a bit premature for comparisons with Afren in my opinion. Afren had 1 main producing field in Ebok and spent 500 million going into Kurdistan. One thing in Tullows favour is that it has a few options for raising cash . Gabon production at 17k boepd could net a tidy sum if sold off. could bring in a few hundred million. Uganda stake is a potential big one but they may need to accept much less than anticipated. if Carapa comes in good the Guyana Portfolio would be substantially derisked. Large exploration blocks - Peru and Comoros ( prospects v. close to huge Gas fields ) look particularly good.
Theres always the scorched earth decision to sell a big % tage or even all of Jubilee and Ten fields which should make a huge dent in their debt. Id expect the lights will be on late in TLW HQ for the next few weeks. GLA for tomo. although a 50% bounce would only bring this to 60p .

I was a shareholder in Rockhopper in 2009 and can confirm this urban legend. I had bought around 12 to 15p in March or April 2009 . almost at the bottom. I sold early around 45p but kept an eye on it. the price continued on to 80p area then back to 50s where i considered buying again but didnt follow through. One day it dropped something like 60% intraday for no reason and recovered to be 35% down. next few days it began the multibag rise to 500p. pure wolf of wall street stuff - similar to recent movements in I3E
