Likely Because being one of the biggest Oil companies in the world they need to constantly discover large reserves. Larger than the ~25-30 million barrel appraisal well that TRP are seeking to drill ( or the ~120 million further exploration leads within the block for that matter ) . They let some licenses go & saw much greater potential in Sth Africa etc going fwd & went after that ( Venus discovery etc ) . But they still saw enough in the Thali Block to warrant holding it for a period of time or else why would they at all ?

The new post restructuring owners after obtaining 90-95% of the company have effectively been rewarded disproportionately a second time - paid handsomely as the dividends were above average and on that proportion of ownership were very very significant.

The previous owners such as myself got dividends on 1/100th of their pre July 2016 stake. For me this has amounted to less than 10k over 5 yrs and that has been taxed also. I’ve reinvested the net dividends. I still need several hundred times that to get back to where I was or expected to be in 2012-2013 . That’s without factoring in the aforementioned lost decade and lost personal opportunities.

Add the ten wasted / lost opportunity years and all the personal destruction that followed from that too

I wonder if this drop is due to the filling of a gap on the chart that was created in the 1st week of June 2025 - 9th or so before the price moved up to the 0.05+ range . It wouldn’t be the first time a stock was driven down before good news either. Someone posted 3 or 4 weeks ago here that shareholders patience would be really tested …looks like they were correct , it’s very very frustrating. I’m in this since 2017-18 and have missed countless alternative opportunities on other small caps . Afrentra most notably . I’m still down 50% despite numerous little top ups in the 0.02-0.03 range . No news on the onshore licenses awards either .

That group of mapped prospects designated as A in Block 125 are huge in surface area terms - 15km wide x 40km . Looks like 1 well could test several intervals also.

Yes, re. Oak Glencores share is 37.5% of 2200 bopd or 825 Bopd ( according to their 2024 year end resources report ) . Pretty marginal stuff for a company of their size - I’m speculating here but I wonder would Tower resources be in line to take it from their hands if our farm outs are sorted . Imagine an immediate 825 bopd to TRP before we ever drilled at Thali in the current oil price environment ? Very material to TRP and would massively de risk the Thali project and would likely be Funded from our Farm out of Thali ? A circular type deal similar to Afentra where Minnows take former assets of Majors . Results of new license blocks in 2 weeks I believe .

A Larger Block next to Thali named Bolongo is open for bidders in the current round it would appear? . I wonder would that be in Towers sights . I wonder did their Seismic survey in recent years extend over that or whether that would be permitted. It would be the most obvious one in my view being adjacent in shallow water , failing that maybe a small onshore block .

Bond prospectus projects 2026 year end cash at 140 million , and 215 million for 2027 & 2028. Net cash by 2027 and substantial Net cash by 2029 , at 70$ a barrel. If oil prices remain high then Net cash maybe earlier . Would rather Share price growth than Dividend

Yeah that’s them , not quite blue collar being directors etc and had thought it was 1% not 10 which is a diff kettle of fish but still a good story . Not advocating anyone to bet the farm on TRP based on an article obviously. SQZ never fell into sub penny decimal places territory either. Still one can dream

Yes SQZ was almost a goner and was once buyable at 3p ….i bottled it at around 6p after a Swedish fund manager if I recall sold their stake and I took that as a bad sign. They did have the opportunity to buy declining Nth sea fields from the bigger players though at a time when divestments were being made which catapulted them to 20,000 bopd + in one swoop . There was some story in the papers about a regular blue collar couple in Uk who bought 1% of Serica at 3p .and it made them a fortune. Thali license was divested by Total in their drive for Elephant hunting in deeper offshore and TRP acquired it. Immaterial for Total , potentially very material for TRP.
