For those not inclined to do their own or any research or rely on someone who has a mate down the pub who fixes his printer it is my opinion that the above statement was made in relation to a patent, or perhaps patents, held by Device Authority, that in my view have now expired in terms of value as intangible assets and, again in my view, were of limited scope given their geographical restriction to at a minimum in the UK and Germany, it failed in the US, dealing with legacy equipment also known as a rapidly shrinking market. Obviously Rhodi will not mention this to you and prefer that you continue to invest in pigs intestines rather than adopt ribbed latex which is likely to be a retro-fit to your present tackle as long as it still rises to the occasion. Of course to be fair I should mention that Device Authority may well be able to provide ribbed latex as well along with their competitors.

Forgot to pay the filing fee for claims 16-21. That will be another 1500 EURO.

Still they get 6 months grace but, if they ignore it, those particular claims will be considered to be abandoned. Should be a bit of a concern given 16-21 appear to include a number of independent, foundational, claims in the application.

Once again I am bound to mention that the preliminary report on patentability rejected everything anyway and it is my view that the company is just trying to maintain the illusion that they have a chance of obtaining a patent. If you assume that the Patent gets granted in Canada then that means no-one in Canada will be able to do what Wyld has claimed in their application. The same would apply to other Countries. A Patent in Brasil, no-one in Brasil would be able to do it and so on.

First you have to hope that the Patent will be granted. As you may know I do not think it will be. Second you have to hope that what is claimed in the Patent has meaningful commercial value or cannot be circumvented or otherwise ignored by competitors.

I suppose a third hope would be that Semtech who hold the IP over LoraWan, Wyld uses Semtech product and is a member of LoraWan, don't get the hump and block Wyld from their market but rather license Wyld's IP under some sort of FRAND agreement,

Again I do not believe that they will be granted a Patent neither do I think any Patent that results in a possible market dominance will not force that market to negotiate licencing with Wyld on pain of Wyld not being able to use the markets technology. Wyld will gain an income stream but they will not own the Everything.

As for what it might mean for Tern. Wyld will become more viable or profitable as a business although it will still have competition from elsewhere. However I'm not sure that will mean anything to Tern's bottom line given the whole reason for being, the dream, is that one of the portfolio companies will be bought for a shed load of money and I cannot see Wyld being bought up just for its IP.

After all their supposed value comes from being a virtual satellite and growing in that particular market and their technology base is owned by others.

So... Ultimately, for Tern, nothing.

Now I get the businesses and market case and I believe the company is capable of doing it however the man is claiming to have granted patents when, as far as I can see, there are none. Why would he do that?

It would seem that Mr Winkler has noticed the excitement that his post has created amongst the slobbering masses on ADVFN and that they are now stating as fact that Device Authority now Own all The Cars and might be begging them to dial it back a bit.

Whether or not they will pay any attention is another matter but I would take a guess that Snoper is going to get all sorts of flack for posting doubts contrary to the view of the hive mind.

So, net result.

We can at least assume the companies named have at least tried out Device Authorities offering. We do not now how many, if any, have taken that offering up and at what scale.

No doubt Lazenby will be along to state that their Lamborghini, read Vauxhall Chevette, already has it installed.

Once again, being a glass half empty sort of person, I would be inclined to ask what chance Device Authority has when The Borg Descend because as far as I can see from the article by Mary Microsoft is very interested in taking over their space and, if Device Authority is not in a position to protect themselves, it is unlikely that they will rate as being 7 of 9 or any part of The Collective beyond Soylent Green.

Perhaps Google shuttering its own services in favour of partner support is a blessing in disguise that has, as yet, not been recognised by those partners. Microsoft wishing to enhance its own services at the expense of partner support could be a sign of things to come.

My lifestyle choice started at the age of 25 when I was introduced to Cannabis.

Unfortunately Tobacco, unlike Cannabis, is extremely addictive. Presumably in the same way that gambling your life savings on penny stocks on AIM is for someone such as yourself.

I suppose the difference between me and yourself would be that I would encourage others not to do so but you need them to do so because you are also close to or beyond retirement and are unable to accept death as your lifestyle choice but would insist that others chip in to support the losses in your pension fund.

Without providing research I will suggest that as a result of actions taken in the Western World to highlight the health damages of Big Tobacco the companies involved have moved their focus to the Third World.

These are the poorer people that you speak of who are at this moment in time being Harvested for Death by Big Tobacco with the support of Wyld.

Just to note I do actually feel very strongly about the association of Wyld with BAT. It does not matter a Damn that I am not invested in Wyld or Tern.

I sincerely hope that either Eutelsat or Clyde decide to withdraw access to their services for the purposes of transmitting data on behalf of BAT.

I also sincerely hope that the contract that Wyld has signed with BAT includes appropriate No Indemnity clauses should they be unable to supply the service as offered.

I might also be inclined to ask whether Eutelsat and Clyd Space would be happy for their equipment to be associated with such an industry.

Much as it might delight some of the more rabid members of this board as a result of my habit I do not think I will hit pension age and would not wish similar on others even if BAT want to or is being forced to kill off the Third World in order to maintain their profit stream.

I'm almost certain Mr Williamson might take a similar view if he were to be a 40 a day man and had noticed his performance in bed as he approached his own retirement had gone from a medal winning marathon to a last gasp effort in an egg and spoon race.

That the statement by Device Authority is that they have joined a partnership program open to World plus Dog as long as they can fulfill the operability requirements laid out by ST.

I'm not saying it is not a good thing that Device Authority have managed to compile or otherwise interface their product against ST devices and have had it approved for such use. This is good.

What is not so good is the fantasists over on ADVFN making the usual claims or otherwise implying that ST along with the entirety of their IoT controller architecture and the associated revenue is now owned by Device Authority.

I'm not sure the news that Wyld is now working with BAT sounds as good as the reputational harm that might result. After all they withdrew from the Russian market over Ukraine so it really makes sense to get involved with Big Tobacco instead and greenwashing for Bayer.

Still I suppose that all that matters is profit for shareholders without scruples.
