Regarding Sipiem it is likely that results from the hearing on 20/12/23 will not be published until next year. Regarding the Firmware update, assuming they have a miner in place with sufficient rigs, it will take time for the rigs to be flashed over to the new software. MM's comments about the time to do this and its verification for secure operation is extremely prescient.

Following on from that the big delay will result from them having to run enough rigs for a long enough time to prove a significant result. As previously suggested one month of mining on 1,000 plus rigs would be a likely requirement. Everyone is blindly ignoring the statistics on this one through choice or, more likely, ignorance.

As suggested there are many statements about Dev Fees, up to 3% for example. There also appear to be lockins to particular mining pools.

It really does not sound like it is something QBT might or want be able to independently offer a as solution to their customers. Someone else is going to take a slice of the pie on top of the slice that QBT is angling for. Too many middlemen?

Also Bitmain appears to actively police such methods in as much as there are indications that sideloading the replacement OS is limited to installation via an SD rather than over the wire via SSH. That's going to introduce a distribution bottleneck. I'm sure customers will just love going around 4K of rigs and individually flashing each one.

As a final fly in the ointment every time Bitmain, or for that matter any rig manufacturer, rolls their product there is the likelihood that these solutions will have to be modified to cope. There is also the problem that Bitmain, and the others, will seek way and means to lock these modifications out of their machines.

Seems to be a source of excitement. Can we put a negative spin on it? Yes we can.

Bitmain reportedly uses a propriety Linux Kernel and have received some flak from the community for not adhering to the Open Source GPL Licence that comes with the original Open Source Code. As a result and at least since 2018 others have developed and released their own Open Source Operating System replacements for Bitmain product. These are freely available for download providing all of the source code for anyone to use. There may however be 'Development Fees' as a means of supporting the production of this software. Those fees appear to comprise a percentage take of coins mined.

QBT suggests that in order to overcome development delays, six months, they have had to make use of what is effectively someone else's open source software to operate on Bitmain rigs. They must have known for over six months that they were going to have to do this. The software is freely available and yet they have apparently done nothing themselves to exploit the opportunity.

A company that is supposedly at the bleeding edge of Bitcoin Mining that does not have the core skills to perform such a basic function in house or even employ someone to do it for them now having to go to an external entity. Very strange.

Speaking as a qualified Alcoholic I have experience of other Alcoholics and the level that they will go to for the next drink, or punt on AIM, as they destroy their connections with their families. In retrospect I was almost there for other reasons but fortunately my Mum died.

I also have experience of other Alcoholics via Fight Club so I cannot tell you about it beyond the fact that when you end up at Fight Club you will be judged as being an Alcoholic with no other consideration or assistance outside of the fact you have been judged to be an Alcoholic.

Obviously I am not like the other Alcoholics. When they try to be besties by offering me alcohol, rather than totally rubbish tips on shares, I go ballistic on them and buy my own. I can because my Mum died. I also happen to be pretty cool with my Sisters.

I once picked up an Alcoholic and took him back to his family in Wigan. I got to see Wigan Peer. I also got to see first hand the level of rejection and hate and lack of trust and his band played on. More recently I lent someone the money to go to his Nan's funeral. We had sorted out the trains and a place to stay and then he got totally blanked via a text message.

I'll end the rant with this.

I guess we now need a link from Jambone to where FG stated he had the main one on the hook ( the natural implication being that the monies owed are in the bank). On the assumption that that will not be forthcoming I assume that Jambone will have to request deletion of their posts where they stated FG had said this.

Jambone might also wish to consider requesting deletion of their existence on this forum and removal of all of their post just in case any of their other 4,179 posts, the majority referencing QBT, include statements about people saying things they did not say. That might be the simplest course of action.

Jambone is invited to link to the statement from the company guaranteeing full recovery of the award. Jambone will not be able to so will resort to bluster. Jambone wants you to invest in this company on the basis of incorrect, incomplete information and/or misrepresentation of that information. I have no idea why a person would wish to do that.
