Some of us have been on this BB for 18 months +. I am heavily invested in PFC, simply cos the movements allowed me to top up at appropriate drop times. This is same for many other followers such as Bluey, warthog and others who have similar views to me. This is a solid, carefully trading company which has put its accounts in order. This will become really clear next April, when the debts will be down and profits up. Patience will reward those who are prepared to ride out the crazy SP movements. Good luck all
All road users deserve courtesy and respect, BUT, I am afraid that my experience of cyclists in greater Manchester is not great. So often, in darkness, I have had to be extra vigilant as there are so many without any lights! About 2 years ago, I was driving to work at 7 AM on a late November morning, when I bumped into an unlit cyclist at a Tjunction. He had travelled on the main road unlit and I simply didn't see him as my car was at an angle at the junction I was mortified that I had done this, helped him off the road and only his minor damaged cycle to worry about. I took him home and he was unhurt, thankfully. Clearly I was at fault and for my sins, he got £ 2 K for his so called injuries from my insurance. Since then, I am even more vigilant and have been amazed how often I have seen reckless cycling on main roads in almost total darkness. My main concern for these guys is that the driver population is ageing and I have no doubt that significant population have poor night vision. A recent report suggests that some 2 million drivers would fail the simple roadside eyetest. I actually keep fit by cycling but would not in a million years go on main roads.
Oh, BTW, clocks go back tonight!
Warthog. Agree with frustration. You've been in this as long as me I thtink and shouldn't be fazed by MM reaction.
The Mexico deal sale: guaranteed $ 200M but ? Still $ 79M to come. I don't fully understand the sale and contingency issues or is the completion quantum final?
+ $ 1.4B award. This is all adding up for year, what with the Basra contract and the Algeria contract and multiple small ones. And there's still 6 months to go.
Come on, this is only going up, even BARCLAYS reckons so. Patience required. I hate day trading, but have made £600 in last 2 weeks as the price fluctuations are simply MM playing silly buggers. My last foray was at 606, after which it droppe to 586, buyt I am confident it will rise into the 630s next week.
Another share tat is behaving spectacularly in similar fashion is KAZ, but there it's an issue of the Russian goldmine for almost a billion -$. Difficult to read that one, but worth keeping a watch on. As always no recommendations from me, but sharing my thinking with the wonderful regular BB fols on here. RDR gave up, Mark King gave up and more recently Hey_Arnold also gave up. It's all very interesting stuff and not for the faint hearted. ATB
All.
I am no daytrader and have a solid holding in this 1 egg.
Nevertheless, when it dropped to 595 this morning, i had a stab and then sold up just now for £ 400 profit.
This is being manipulated by daytraders! Again, no endorphin feel despite nice money return as ultimately i feel let down by the marketmakers as to its true value. hey ho, SIT BACK AND RELAX, as someone said.
this is daytrader's paradise. up/down like a yoyo with no bearing on companyh. i posted 2 d ago that I had bought at 599. i sold at 611 this morning with £ 200 profit. I'm not sure that my endorphins have been raised in any way. Will look at further opp to buy back if drops again today. BUT overall, long term this co is sound.
I entirely agree Poker. PFC doesn't win bids galore as it bids with sensible margins, aiming for profits rather than risk. The last 18 months that I have watched this share, that is the view that I have come to with all the dialogue with bids and when bids are successful. There are lots of bids that it has gone for, which lesser companies have been successful (such as Tech Reunidas) with but the outcome hasn't fazed PFC. It has become leaner and fitter during my watch. There is sound financial governance with disposals and reduction of debt with ultimate aim of paying sensible dividends. The SFO issue is still there, but doesn't seem to play on the SP that much, but undoubtedly when it is resolved, the SP will fly further. This is my opinion only and I wish all you BB followers ATB.

Asfari is Syrian, I am pretty sure. H Arnold, the tax exemptions for North Sea will be a 5-10 yearly cycle. Cannot see immediate withdrawal. Asfari is keen on Middle East, South Asia and increasingly Russia, so North Sea not too important. Additionally the assets in North Sea have been sold off causing the profits impairment in the 6 monthly statement.
The sp drop was probably caused by the write off loss, which was already anticipated. Strong 1/2 yearly statement with suggested imminent news of The Hague hearing! Surely, £3 here we come, when the India-grab has to be compensated.
