That rule only applies to a potential bidder who, for whatever reason, emerges having already built a position in the shares. In that event, and only in that event, the potential buyer would be obligated to bid for the company's entire share capital at or above the highest price he himself has paid over (I believe) the past 6 months, not 52 weeks. If however, some arbitrary company wishes to submit a bid for GDR out of the blue, they could offer any price they wish, even one below the current price.

Overall, a very very very dubious official close at 30.5p, which was below the closing bid of 31p, and well below the 31.5/32p where almost all the volume went through today. You don't normally see those kind of sneaky games being played in such a young company. It can - repeat, CAN - be an early indication of a short position built up at (much) lower levels by an aggressive professional looking to try and 'mark' the price lower to relieve some of the pressure on his P&L even for just one day, in the hope that it brings out some sellers early the next day. But while we're on the subject of stuff that doesn't smell quite right: a first-ever post is a nasty little howdyado about a company announcement from nearly a month ago, which the market has already digested and rendered its judgement, but which still comes complete with the worst possible conclusion by this concerned citizen (ie., that the CEO intentionally mislead the market in order to 'ramp' the share price), a likely actionable slur against 'Eoin'. Your beginner's attempt to make sense of the rudimentary buy/sell data your broker provides, filtered through a typical small shareholder's cynicism, will not serve you well here. It was prior to, and completely independent of, the much bigger, and more profitable for shareholders, tender at 46p done in 2019, you titanic muppet. That was followed last year by a massive 6p special dividend. Subsequent capital returns will follow this year from multiple sources and not some arbitrary bi-annual nonsense. I am an informed advocate for Brandshield's core business of which I am striving to become an expert, and believe the shares are deeply undervalued just on current business wins. I provided a lot of information in a single post not out of altruism but because, as I've said, I want to raise the conversation and get more knowledgeable people to post. People, sorry to say, who don't confuse owning a share for a long period of time with insight, and especially who don't think that that 'length of service' in the shares somehow demands my respect. Pathetic? No. Its the difference between investing and punting around.

Well, if you only popped in now, you'll may only just have noticed the near 20% return you enjoyed last year on the back of a 6p special dividend to go with the sector-crushing performance in 2019 when the company provided a tender at 46p for 70% of small shareholders' holdings.
