The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I fear a side effect of the tax concessions is likely to be media hysteria when BT report profits, followed by a political crusade by some non-descript MP trying to build a reputation for themselves by booting BT in the proverbials, and the company subsequently constrained by a public turning of the regulatory screw.
PLC my a#se.
He definitely has a personality unlike mine.
If you’re still clinging onto a belief you were right to back johnson and that he was good for this country, you’re more deluded than I thought and your judgement is about as sound as when you were proclaiming BT SP at £5 by xmas a couple of years back.
I don’t consider myself as having ramped BT officer.
Of course the comments on here don’t impact the SP but sadly I think they can influence the decisions of those that come to this forum.
And, out in the real world, the rampers (and particularly the BT board) are not doing a great job of convincing the market to invest.
You’ve always been desperate Rodney, although usually just for a bit (a lot) of attention.
Enjoy your weekend in Milan.
Right…so let’s ‘consider what has actually happened’ and try to let go for a moment of the comfort of assuming ‘things will turn out just as we’d like to imagine they will be in the future’ (if nothing else being a BT shareholder has taught us we should expect the unexpected).
In relative terms how well has the BT SP performed over the last few years and with this in mind, how successful will the strategy of an investor who chose to hold and reinvest in that period have been?
How well will his (or her) strategy have performed compared to say, the old lady (or man) who chooses to put their spare cash into premium bonds?
And looking to ‘read the comments of someone that has the same strategy as mine’ is basically looking for reinforcement that you’re right. Potentially more to be gained from considering those with alternative views. You either gain something or you test and determine you’re comfortable with your way.
This forum can often be an echo chamber where people come here for approval rather than rational debate. You see it in all the likes when someone says BT is a winner and the anger when someone says they’re a dog. Understandable as people don’t like to be told they’ve done something dumb and they’re going to lose their money but also dangerous as decisions based on ego and instant gratification rather than logic and facts is just a gamble.
