I also exited Avacta for the same reason Shaun, many RNS but no substance or forward movement. Struck me like they were just releasing any news to be seen to be doing something, worried me a little. Put my profits from it in here to top up

I tend not to get too drawn into takeover rumours. That said if the new sales numbers prove to be as good as we expect, and/or we get awarded a sizeable long term contract, then it will likely prove irresistible to some of the big players. Especially given its low market cap relative to its sales and market share. It would cause an instant price rerate, but I believe that rerate will occur regardless of a takeover as its too cheap a market cap right now.

Higher volume is good. When its quiet the market makers can pretty much manipulate prices at will, much more difficult on higher volume days. Higher volume on the back of news releases would be even more welcome, but we all wait for the re-rate in the near term.

Got to love the US. highest inflation in nearly 30 years and they are cheering about it. Don't worry they say we have too many unemployed for it to be an issue. Wonder if they even realise that's stagflation and is much much worse. Ah Americans, got to love them.

Will add a little more today. Got a bit tired of AVCT releasing pointless RNS's and making no progress on their actual product, so reduced my position there, will probably move it in here some more.

Generally quiet day across the sector, I suspect as a result of some positivity in overall markets (generally covid stocks do better on weak overall markets days). Not sure the FTSE positivity can hold personally given the rapidly deteriorating economics and continued virus impacts. Probably a bit of relief over the Trump free cash for all nonsense. No doubt tomorrow the markets will be back to looking at the reality of the situation and risk will be taken off and the covid sector stocks will continue their upwards march.

They need a product for sale for a start. It's all good and well getting new partners and trials but we need some money coming in the door. I don't doubt they will, but until the cash starts rolling in I'd not expect any crazy movement in share price.

Can you imagine if you were short this overnight tonight, zero sleep will be had.

Buyout price would depend on contracts etc and latest financial/sales info, but personally I'd expect no less than 800p.

Funny you should say that, I added some more today because I had a funny feeling we'd get an RNS tomorrow too. Shouldn't really trade feelings I know, but sometimes got to go with your instinct.

Shorts are great for aim. When they get stopped out they are the catalyst that propels shares higher. Wish they were shorter, given these fundamentals. I'm looking for +£5 and the unwinding will certainly help
