To be clear, i have no particular interest in what Musk has to say, and i have never thought of freedom of speech as a distinctly left or right wing issue.

Nor do i have any great allegiance to left or right wing thinking in general. For me, free speech is a way bigger issue.

Seems that people on either side of the debate want to silence their opponents as a shortcut to victory, and are notably quiet when their own "side" transgress.

Imo, the author should not be held responsible for the ignorance of the reader, unless that author is empowered by the public - to inform the public.

If we as a society are going to fact-check every single thing that is written, and punish mistakes (intentional or otherwise), we end free speech.

Generally speaking, i would rather know a person position and judge them accordingly.

Imo, there is a distinction between online and on the street, that being the option to reasonably avoid.
