Hi Gudin,
Re the exchange between Keith and yourself.
The prospect of paying a discovery bonus does not discharge PRD of its responsibility to inform the market of any significant development likely to impact the SP.
That it is being presented as a consideration in this context is wrong.
Similarly, the rules around MAR and disclosure are not being accurately represented.
These rules are not flexible at a companys convenience.
So for example, a company would be expected to inform the market that it is negotiating with another, including the broad aims of that negotiation.
It may be permitted to withhold a measure of information pertaining to that negotiation, IF, and only if, it can demonstrate that to make such information public would prejudice the outcome - whilst always maintaining an orderly market.
What it certainly can't do is impose a total news blackout on all operational progress.
Here is an example from earlier in the week by the poster MunnieTorx: Note the brackets are mine.
"Let them fully test all sequences, thin beds, connectivity, rates, pressures, MOU1 MOU4. Let them go on to discuss all this with onhym and Afriquia Gaz. Package it all up for the king and present it finally to shareholders (And if that wasn't enough already!) after fielding discussions with significant private equity, or else a multinational."
Aside from the fact that a lack news for the length of time necessary to complete all of the above would likely crash the SP, the suggestion just isn't practical.
In such a scenario PRD would not be able to control the information it hadn't released, punters would be operating in a false market, and inside trading would become rife.
