Yeah i agree, migration is great, supports so many industries and is vital to any country's economic prosperity.
Probably caveat that by saying "within reason", as i dont think the country's infrastructure can handle anything like the levels we had last year on a consistent basis, and have concerns about social cohesion when the number entering are so high (dependent on origin).
The bit i dont like is the stabby, drug dealing types. Or the Islamic terrorists that have caused havoc across Europe in recent years. In short, im not prepared to accept the odd suicide bomber as a price for not regulating who we allow into the country.
In terms of the press, both sides are equally biased imo. My "go to" newspaper is the Guardian, but im "guilty" of reading around, including a bit of GB news, lol.
The aging population thing - Yeah i here that a lot. Don't think the solution is even more people, who themselves age, requiring even more people to provide their care. Productivity perhaps?
