It's hardly down at all against yesterday's end of trading price but is down from the 168 post close price to its current price. What's the problem?

@Thieves - we know why, it’s because of the recent inclusion of ARB in fund index, institutional buyers need to acquire end of this month to mirror that, deadline is today.

It's subjective where you choose to anchor the baseline but I chose 8 January as that was the date the SP seemed to catch up with the bump in BTC, and also seems to give closest alignment up to the surge of enthusiasm in mid-February

Not sure how many more of these short positions need to be liquidated to break through that, there's movement from short to long on most of the exchanges now

They need to add them to that portfolio tomorrow, they may have bought them before now (if they had any sense)

Rhetorical maybe but the interesting part of the test is whether ARB rises relative to BTC or other miners, and shows signs of realising more of its value potential now there are more sticky hands in the pot. The extent to which the SP floats independently of BTC will affect the margin by which it might leverage added value to the next rise in BTC.

Will be interesting to see how today goes. Yesterday BTC dipped a bit and ARB/ARBKF stayed up. 600k shares sold after hours below SP and BTC floating a little bit lower this morning after long liquidations. If the SP holds up that’ll be a very positive sign.

I may be wrong but I think it means that they should be holding them by tomorrow, i.e. they have been buying them recently.

@Insider - to be fair, no-one really knew how far it would go or for how long, and it might dip again before the bigger step up. But you're right there were a lot of siren voices last week trying to encourage selling at the point of maximum value for buyers! I hope you managed to make the right decision for you.

There may be a bit of tug-of-war to come also because the option writers will want BTC to price higher going into Friday's options expiry deadline if they're going to balance the pain between longs and shorts (if I remember rightly, I think this month's sweet spot was somewhere around $54k prior to the carnage and liquidations).
