In this case there was no cost difference. HE1 got lucky because when they contracted Mitchell had a larger rig than they ordered already sitting in Tanzania, so they saved about half a million dollars and 3-4 months in mobilisation costs, compared to shipping the smaller rig out from Australia. The benefit was that they could sink exploration bores and, if promising, go straight to appraisal rather than coming back with a bigger rig in the Spring. It was always in plan to continue in 2022. They got ahead and at lower cost. We have to wait and see if they can keep ahead in what time is left or revert to Plan A. They've only spent $2m of the $10m raised so they have choices.

This stuff happens. The drill bit broke, then snagged and dropped down the well when they tried to retrieve it, they successfully wedged and kinked around it to drill on down to target, and out again, with helium mud logs in all layers. The wire line snagged on the kink and they couldn't get down to read the lower structures. If they're lucky they can still a get straight hole down to a similar target and hopefully flow some free gas to prove the basic concept. Coming back again in the Spring with more kit is another option. They have the funds to do it.

this is complete nonsense. Mitchell's are hugely experienced, they took options to be paid in shares for parts of the drill, and they supplied a higher spec rig at same cost for this job.

You've made three quantified claims today, all of which were wrong. Even a broken clock is right once a day!

I have no problem at all with TA or trading, well done on buying at the low (there were three of them so wasn't too hard), good work, but I sense there's a fair bit of FUD in those posts and not a true representation of the charts.

It has not been 'heading south, slowly as the day progresses', and final trades were higher than opening trades!

I do accept that it will drift around but having settled around this level with all the reassurance on re-risking and funding, it's hard to see it breaking the obvious resistance above 10p

I think DM's interview is fairly clear and sets out the knowns and unknowns quite well. Obviously disappointing but the first drill clearly takes us forward not backwards. Once people realise that hopefully they'll recover their senses.
