RE: Reality Is the Huge CAPEX no needed no one talking about30 Jan 2024 10:14
Capex would be much lower than setting up a hydrocarbon refinery, and helium price has gone up multiples recently. If the wells can be completed then you’re looking at more of half a million dollars a day revenue for an outlay of less than $100m, at Opex of c. $1m per year. That’s for six wells, the piping infrastructure, and the purification/liquification plant. It doesn’t take much maths to work out the possible profitability margin. But let’s allow a +50% error margin and you’re still clear in c. 12 months of full operation, with potential $0.5bn future profit (annually). Obviously we have to be very cautious about that, but if results meet expectation then they will not have any trouble raising debt for Capex
