He’s not wrong that a pull back would be expected after that mad start, and this share has always attracted aggressive shorting and spread betting. But I don’t think there’s any leak to counter the leak that is driving demand.

You can, but they are still a good distance from that. There's a difference between probable and proven reserves (and we aren't there yet). If there is proof of discovery then the reserve still remains contingent on subsequent development. They 'may' get enough data from the well to evidence volumetric probability and they will be trying to get some indication of performance from the open hole testing, but I suspect they will still need to raise in the interim. But we'll see.

As a ballpark, the SP reached 29p in August 2021, when there were about 616m voting shares in issue, so around £178m cap at that time, or thereabouts = roughly 5p at current share issue

No-one ever said it would be the '4th week' in January. The RNS said it was scheduled for the last week in January, which is exactly when they have commenced the work.

Like every AIM explorer share, when there is a period of financial uncertainty waiting for news the price will probably erode. It doesn’t reflect the value of the discovery they’ve made, tells you more about AIM than about the company. Safety will be in buying the news, when it comes.

Last time I looked, Spreadex still owned 7.5% of the company, so a portion of short posters here are likely to be anxious spread betting clients of theirs.
