It’s only a small company, the CEO only earns about £50k, which living in London with childcare is hardly a lifestyle company choice. They have share options at higher prices. They’re not the same shares. You can’t trade new shares before admission to the market or offer them for sale. But like shorting, you could borrow someone else’s shares, try to ramp up the price, sell those shares at a marginal profit, and then use your new shares issued at a heavy discount to repay the loan. If you were very lucky the transaction dates might even fall within one reporting month and you could cover your tracks. Just hypothetically of course.
