Presumably the market doesn’t believe a word of the shorts either as it hasn’t moved one way or the other.

Depending on liquidity many or even most mid size trades can be MMs buying from each other if they can take any advantage of arbitrage on the range of spreads.

Yes, if all goes ahead then the new train will be flying. For the moment I can understand why the market remains subdued this week awaiting news to confirm progress on either project.

Submission of the mining licence application will be a major milestone for the company. After that, I guess the immediate new flow will be drilling the six wells in Colorado, plenty of news to come there while waiting for news in TZ

Not harsh at all, I’m sure they’re very optimistic and the surface concentrations are positive, as they were in Rukwa, but it’s a first stage exploration play, gathering data to see if it’s worth raising share capital to explore.

They are worlds apart in terms of development, completely different. 80E is an exploration sentiment play based on interesting surface seeps (like those observed in Rukwa a decade and more ago). Interesting because exploring existing deep wells is less expensive than drilling new exploration wells, but they’re not even at first base with this. HE1 has acquired one commercial development project and completed application for another.

I think she said recent applications have taken around three months so I don’t there’s any hard expectation, could be before Christmas, could be new year, could be earlier.

The larger shareholders have been the main retail trading and spread betting platforms (not surprising if trader volumes rise and fall with news cycles), plus Cantor Fitzgerald and the elusive long term individual/family/proxy holder. But you’d expect a TR1 if those voting rights were changing.

Application will be submitted by 17 September and decision will take a few weeks/moths (average 3 months) so hopefully by Christmas if all works out.

China have been investing in TZ for years, and just agreed on the massive railway upgrade project linking the Zambian copper belt and Southern TZ to the coast.

Not far fetched at all. China would be by far the most likely end market for liquified helium shipped out of East Africa, and they have a strong interest in resource and infrastructure investment in TZ. But that market might be mediated by an off taker doing a sales deal with China rather than HE1 having any direct dealing. Another possibility is that the TZ government do a China deal on developing national helium processing infrastructure, and HE1 or off taker tap into that. All idle speculation at this stage anyway.

The preparation of the studies needed for licence submission has been a 6 month process, with the EWT results now integrated as a final stage. I’d be surprised if integrated results were published before the licence submission, but I’d expect an RNS to confirm successful completion of the milestone (as capital was raised from the market for that purpose). It’s not likely they would publish the commercially sensitive study in full but I’d hope for some kind of key point summary, with a following analytical paper, competent person’s report, investor presentation etc as and when possible.
