As has been said there are plenty of potential sellers, distressed or otherwise so the selling could go on for a while but what an opportunity for the wise or brave to get these very cheap and make good money short to medium term or potentially massive money long term.

Hopefully still paying out a generous divi.

Thats why im happy to hold long term.
Im confident that they can and will slowly make the transition to new green sources of energy that will be just as, if not more profitable.

Oops! Just back read the posts i missed while away and (mostly) what a waste of time. Seems to have degenerated back to mud slinging, politics and the end is nigh stuff again.
While I realise politics is essential to investing, I had my fill of it with all the poisonous brexit stuff . It became far too personal and divisive, so its something I try not to spend too much time on.
Each to their own of course but if your invested here why not spend a bit more time researching and talking about the company.

Dipped my toe in at 1.35 today. Shouldnt keep buying but so cheap i cant help myself.

Dont think theres any need to rush to buy anywhere at the moment. Have to curb my over enthusiasm and keep plenty powder dry in this crash. Things will no doubt get worse before better. How much worse and for how long is the only question in my mind.

Wasnt doubting onco but just thought strange no drop. Bought more at 1.7 and will buy more down here but looking for an optimum price. Seems all over the place and strange goings on. Every time i buy it drops lower. Dont think ill ever pick the bottom on any share

Only shows todays trades. Ill take your word for it of course. Im surprised no big drop this morning though if a 5m sell went through at end of day yesterday. Was ready to buy a few more but might wait a bit longer now.

What a lot of people waiting for 8s and 9s or 5s or whatever are failing to see is that the dividend is very likely safe and big institutional buyers will be piling in for the fantastic yield here as many other blue chip companies cut theirs. Maybe well go below 13 but i dont think well be getting any more chances even at 9 or 10. Happy to be wrong though because its another chance for me to add to my significant holding here.

Bought more at £13.17 today. Wasnt going to go above £13 but FOMO got the better of me this time. Seems like 13 is the new 9 for the time being. If the divi stays (and it looks very likely) it could be a base. If the divi goes or severely cut, then maybe 10s or even 9s again, in which case ill keep adding.
This is a fantastic blue chip company thats been around a long time and hasnt cut the divi since WW2.

Brief mention maybe but very positive. All we need now is for negotiations to finish and the rto to happen. Im sure im not the only one here feeling impatient after what seems like a very long wait.

Not easy to call krimh..i was hoping to buy in the low 12s this morning myself but never got the chance. Ive got a limit order in for 13. Its just a top up tho. I already have a core holding. Im 'hoping' this will be a repeat of 2008 with a few false rallies that peter out and give us a chance to buy in lower. I personally think even buying at these levels is a bargain but not without some risks short term. Long term i dont think you can go wrong but just my humble opinion. I cant see into the future any better than anyone else.
Averaging in is always a good idea but should be aware any good news on the possible end of the oil wars will have this much higher.

Oh its that day...hope an agreement has been reached thats good for us. Maybe hear something this week?

Im sure its not that simple bald eagle. Yes they could shut up shop and wait it out but for how long. The consensus opinion seems to be that the russians and saudis are trying to cripple the US shale industry and the big orange guy isnt going to like that esp as theres an election on the way and hes desperate to be seen as a strong man defender of the the good ol USA.

I can imagine someone called caitlin in a room on their own with hands over their ears shouting...lies!..lies!

Like the traders buying up storage and even super tankers to fill with cheap oil and sell on when price increases. Cant be cheap to hire super tankers. How much do they cost per month. They know theyre not going to have to wait years before they sell. Not a conspiracy theorist but something smells a bit off and it wont be the crude in the tankers.
