No worries te.
Definitely worth maxing those ISA allowances. If you have an obliging partner £20k can become £40k per annum too.
I also have JISA's for both my girls attached to my other trading accounts. Hoping my 3 year old will be very happy she has some BRH and AVCT shares when she hits 18 :-)
te1970 - You can if your broker offers a 'bed & ISA' facility and assuming you have some ISA allowance left for the tax year.
They effectively sell your trading account shares and buy exactly the same shares back as soon as that trade goes through. So you may suffer a small reduction in holding (or an increase) if the markets move between the sell trade an the buy trade.
It’s a very exciting time to be in a share which could help turn the tide of this and many other diseases.
As yet we’ve had minimal media coverage (outside of investing media) so very much under the radar to Joe public. Wonder if that will change soon?
Marmite,
All very true. the other really attractive thing (hopefully) about this test is it also appears to have the sensitivity to compete with PCR. Detecting very low concentrations of live virus. In much quicker time.
PCR machines are pretty expensive. Appreciate we don’t yet know what price point of Paraytec’s shoebox will be but if it undercuts PCR devices (I expect it will considerably) on price and speed while matching their accuracy we are onto a winner
To be fair though whenever they have promised an update by a certain date they have delivered one, even if like in Jan it was to inform of a slight delay to results.
I much prefer a company that delivers things when it says it will (good/bad or indifferent) to one that goes radio silent when it has set expectations of updates.
The SP definitely appears to be consolidating in the high 70s/low 80s which hopefully means new support level here.
I'm no chartist but am I correct in thinking a close above 80 would be a good bullish signal?
Trying not to get hopes up too much for the news this week, we will definitely get an update but will it be the full clinical trial results or a status update we really don't know. Either way i'm happy to wait.
What excites me more is hearing what the company are going to do with it post clinical results/CE marking......
I'd be happier though if it was a big PI (shouldn't have any inside knowledge) as opposed to a Director (who clearly would).
Fingers crossed for great sample results, our mad scientist seems pretty happy (on twitter anyway).
Bottmzup, I agree with you on the short termers but I admit to being more than a combination of intrigued and flummoxed over the timing of this. Just under £4m seemed a decent chunk for now to get on with things. One would have thought waiting for first 6 holes to come back and raise off the back of the inevitable spike (if results good).
The timing of this says there is something else requiring more immediate cash. Hopefully we'll find out soon.
The biggest revelation IMO here is it could be a good enough replacement for PCR. Minimum testing time for PCR is around 2 hours I believe. This test also works on intact virus, not spike fragaments like PCR (if I understand the science properly).
Paraytec's test is 120 secs or less.
Massive.
Could the rot have finally stopped? Steady rise to next news? Lets hope so, market cap is ridiculous at the moment, surely barely represents the other investment potential in the portfolio let alone the fast Covid test prospects.
Fax, I think this is exactly the point it's a huge market and as I see it there are sections for each type of test:
LFTs - Cheap to mass produce ideal for mass home testing and small businesses.
BRH test - Some investment in the equipment necessary but hopefully not stupidly high so perfect for mass events and med-large businesses.
PCR test - High accuracy but big investment. Ideal for clinical setting, labs etc who have the relevant equipment and/or equipment budgets.
It's a worldwide marked so everyone's happy.
Haha, better than the Innova Chinese made rubbish tho. I believe AVCTs test will form part of the solution Boris talked about last night.
We’re not even sure if ours is in the Govt radar but if our anticipated positive news drops that will change very quickly.
