When I first read about the company I thought why on earth does a company like this want to put money into Nigeria - does Tosca have some hold over them?

Century Energy Services' main company operations are in Port Harcourt. They were appointed shortly after the 4 main anchors were laid at the position the ship is still at anchor today off Port Harcourt.

I remember posting when Century was originally appointed in charge of security that they could be a possible purchaser of Eli Akaso.

Tosca saw SLE/OF as a tool to play in the energy game with the " big boys" (remember Poland/Davos with the OF presentation) - those were the days!

The Americans drive to remove Europe's independence from Russia's cheap gas (which we are all paying for to this day in Europe and particularly in German industry) led to the assumption that Poland could supply the German reservoirs with replacement for Russian gas - then the world "discovered" Ukraine with its resources of oil/gas which supported by American who in addition had already built import terminals in Poland provided an opportuity for the west to remove Russia from the oil/gas supply equation ( US or Ukraine blew the Baltic pipelines for good measure), given the above for the oil/gas prospectors in Poland the resource game was virtualy over - Exit San Leon as best we could.

Tosca/OF then looked for somewhere else to play the energy game and who better to run a new game than our own wheeler dealer OF.

Nigeria seemed like a good location they had oil/gas and OF assumed he had discovered the "inside" track with Ex head of shell Nigeria, whose "old School connections ", we were to discover were very much on the wane, was to lead us into a complete take over of OML18 with listings of the "new" company in UK and Nigeria ( think Seplat here) the rest is history as one would say!

What/where is the future for San Leon - we need money! - German bonds? Sahara oil has recently been involved in group of Nigerian entities who has obtained funding from the Afreximport Bank - where the funds will be deployed you tell me?

Nigeria claim they have made recent attempts to " renovate" their old refineries however the refineries complain they do do not have enough supplies local oil to refine. The political pressure is on in Nigeria to increase the local production of oil and gas from onshore assets - lets hope OML18 has some priorities in recommisioning given its location next to two of the largest "renovated" oil refineries in Nigeria in the Delta .
