RE: Show me the seed sales!!!!!25 Apr 2020 12:41
As of today we can see the first states starting to relax measures in the face of protests and financial hardship. Over the coming month of May, we will surely see many other states follow suit in a measured way, keeping up social distancing whilst allowing commerce to recommence. At some point we will have to do the same here!
News of home testing kits is starting to filter out and infection testing will continue to be ramped up everywhere as a key tool in controlling the pandemic and stopping secondary spikes.
What will all this mean for the selling of our seeds? We will find out pretty soon, I think. Growers still need to grow and they have another 8-10 weeks to get going, depending on latitude and terrain. Zoetic set a limit of the end of June last year for their 40,000 outdoor plants in Colorado. These were started in poly-tunnels and then planted out in rows in the field. The yield was great and if 40,000 seeds serviced 16 acres then 3,000,000 seeds would be enough for 1200 acres. Being that we are targeting sales in 5 keys states with our connections there, I think 240 acres per state in terms of seed sales does not sound too hard to achieve.
Put another way, if each bulk sale was for 20 acres, we would need to make 60 sales to sell our stated inventory.
However, the indoor facility will have more seeds in process and indeed I should imagine another bay of 2,500 plants has already come to seed! With another one behind it …. Still plenty of time to sell these too in May and early June.
So, Nick has plenty to address in his next RNS!
Have a great weekend. Walking shoes on and an isolated stride in the sun for me. Stay safe, stay distant BH
