Orca did not own the gas wells/infrastructure, they just managed it along with their PSA which entitled them to sale certain gas over and above TPDC protected gas, which was how Orca made their revenue, the managing of Songo Songo gas field and processing plant was done on a ( no gain no loss ) agreement.

Hi Vike, Orca or Songas does not impact Kiliwanis prospects directly, the majority of the Songo Songo gas field feeds the old ( Songas Processing plant ) where as Kiliwani was piped in the ( TPDC new processing plant).

I should imagine that negotiations are taking place via the relevant parties for TPDC to assume control with the aim to redirect all of Songo Songo gas into the TPDC new 100% owned processing plant. ??

It's interesting then that all three previous wells Aminex drilled on the Ruvuma licence, were spud end of December beginning of January and then drilled through to March/April. Why would they choose the wet season ??

re-working? They said they plan to repair damaged casing, the thing is with NT-1 they only encountered 3 meters of net pay, considering that the well preformed very well giving a flow rate of 21 mmscfd. I've often thought the NT-1 well to be a good candidate for a side-track into a deeper section of the pay zone.

Infact they did plan a side-track to NT-1 before they changed their minds in favour of NT-2.

Anyway it's looking like CH-1 and NT-1 will not be ready for when the pipeline is completed, so NT-2 needs a good ( clean up ) and then maybe hopefully that well could produce and honour the GSA for the first year.

I suppose the question is then, that without CH-1 and indeed NT-1 production, ( which repair work is planned after CH-1) how much will the NT-2 well produce on its own?

It produced 19 mmscfd on test, but we know the well pores we're damaged/clogged during drilling from over compensating the high pressures encountered.

Anyway its possible damaged wells can be cleaned up and production increased, so I wonder are ARA thinking along these lines, considering the high pressures encountered at NT-2 and what Songo Songo wells are capable of producing at ( 55 mmscfd I believe SS11 ) then I'm thinking that even without CH-1 and NT-1 it's not beyond the realms of possibilities, that NT-2 with a successful clean-up could produce 40 mmscfd or enough to honour its GSA agreement. ??

As i understand it, the kasa well is offshore so they'll be using an offshore rig for that one. ??

I get the feeling, that gas production has and is dropping of at Mnazi Bay, it was touching 100 mmscfd in recent years?

And that these two planned wells, are to maintain the current production  rates and stop further decline.
