"but we know all too well the cost of delays and as ye"
I think we're about due a bumper operation update.
I note with the HE-1 RNS, the DST provided no measured flow-rates or well bore pressure ??
RoJo, how can everyone be so boring
"Sorry I meant that AEX and ARA would like the same agreement...."
Ha yes, that makes sense Crusty, lol 🙂
Nature of Operations
"The principal asset of Orca Energy Group Inc. (“Orca” or the “Company”) is its interest in the Production Sharing Agreement (“PSA”) with the
Tanzanian Petroleum Development Corporation (“TPDC”) and the Government of Tanzania (“GoT”) in the United Republic of Tanzania. This PSA
covers the production and marketing of natural gas from the Songo Songo license offshore of Tanzania. The PSA defines the gas produced
from the Songo Songo gas field as “Protected Gas” and “Additional Gas”. The Protected Gas is owned by TPDC and is sold under a 20-year
gas agreement (until July 31, 2024) to Songas Limited (“Songas”) and Tanzania Portland Cement PLC (“TPCPLC”). Songas is the owner of the
infrastructure that enables the gas to be treated and delivered to Dar es Salaam, which includes a gas processing plant on Songo Songo Island
(collectively, the “Songas Infrastructure”)."
Yes Crusty, ARA and AEX do have a different PSA, and I expect the TPDC would like the same fore the Songo Songo gas field if they can?
As I understand it the only thing that Orca owns is the PSA, the SS infrastructure belongs to Songas which the TPDC has a 45% share of, not the controlling interests.
"Songas is a leading Tanzanian gas-to-power company which generates 190 megawatts (MW) of electricity. Using gas from the Songo Songo gas reserves, Songas also processes and transports natural gas to other power generators and industrial customers."
"Since 2004, Songas has been a strategic partner with the Government of Tanzania in meeting the growing demand for energy. Songas sells all the electricity it produces to TANESCO."
"As a registered Tanzanian company, the Government of Tanzania owns more than 40% of the shares in Songas through shareholdings held by TANESCO, TPDC and TDFL. Globeleq owns 54% of the shares in Songas and operates the plant. Globeleq is a leading independent power producer which operates and develops power projects in Africa. Globeleq is owned by CDC (70%) of UK and Norfund (30%) of Norway. CDC and Norfund are development finance institutions which support investment in developing countries."
The old SS processing plant that processes the gas at the moment is not controlled by TPDC they are a shareholder but they do not control what happens to the gas. Which I would say is contrary to Tanzania 2015 oil gas policy, where TPDC seeks to own and controll all domestic gas infrastructure and supply. ?
"My guess, is that there will be a license renewal, but with PSA terms that are in line with current PSAs."
Yes maybe, but will that suit Orca, my understanding is that they're sat on a packet now, $ 100 million? So maybe they might just cut and run.
Something that's puzzled me, is TPDC building the new SS processing plant which is grossly underused, which could be a factor altetmitly what happens to Songo Songo gas. ?
Very interesting, I've always suspected them having trouble getting their licence renewed, Orca's relationship with the Tanzanian Government over the years has not been without disputes. Yes like you say their PSA licence is not a conventional one and would seem to favour Orca, its going to be interesting to see what happens now.
Not my find Crusty, just passing it on, thanks should go to a mr (B) I believe, 🙂, a member of the Telegram group.

Maybe the problem with RoJo is, that he can't read. Lol,
Well they have compensated all the land owners for the pipeline already and a company has been contracted for the detailed design of the pipeline, also the GSAhas been issued, so I would suggest that the decision to develop Ntorya has already been made, and no doubt we'll find out soon enough when they issue the development licence.
Yes I'm inclined to agree, but whether it's corruption or simply incompetence I wouldn't know, but the two ministers that were dismissed from there jobs last year, would suggest a need for improvement within these Ministry bodies. So hopefully after the shakeup last year we will see improvement in efficiency this year. The growing need for Ntorya gas still exists.
" It is expected that a drilling rig contract for CH-1 and NT-1 will be finalised in the coming months. Further announcements will be made in due course."
Because the market demands them, but in saying that, every workstream or licence award, is issued by the term of expectation, which does not imply certainty.
Well, that's not too bad RoJo, all considering
What is your break-even price RoJo?
