yes, nearly 2 years ago, lets hope this is it now, its in every ones interest to get it done, the PSA licence, farm-out, development licence, and its will wine win for all.
yes Drewky will certainly get a big hat tip from me if news comes out in a week or so. that Emmanuel Tayari seems an active fellow on twitter re; Tanzania etc. fingers crossed for next week then : )
I have a feeling Orca are making ready incase their psa license is not going to be renewed ?
from todays news "While Orca is keen to extend the PSA beyond 2026 with a view to continuing to support Tanzania’s economic and industrial development, Orca will only agree to changes to the PSA and commitments to further investment in the field where the Songo Songo licence and PSA are extended on acceptable terms and there is a clear path to monetizing the gas with returns that are superior to other investment opportunities available to the Company."
https://www.assayerisk.com/20180608-tanzania-special-committee-report-oil-and-gas/ ‘Loopholes’ in contracts were identified which had denied the government Sh291 billion (US$128 million) of revenue. Pan African Energy Tanzania (PAET), a gas producer, was specifically singled out as having avoided paying Sh136bn in tax (US$60 million)." It was claimed that Songas, a producer of electricity, and PAET had been collaborating to shift their burden of operations to the Tanzania Petroleum Development Company (TPDC) and Tanzania Electricity Supply Company (TANESCO)."
"The Committee specifically proposed that the government does not renew its power production and gas drilling contracts with Songas due to losses that have been incurred in the present ‘unfair deal’: the government – Songas contract is set to expire in 2024."
He added: “Tanzania has not delayed to invest in natural gas; teams of exploration are still exploring for more areas with natural gas and to those areas discovered with natural gas, we are in talks with investors who are willingly to invest to our country for the benefit of all Tanzanians.”
Tanzania Parliament is postponed to January 28, 202014 Jan 2020 09:49
I suppose once the attorney general office has completed the PSA review, it will have to go before the the Tanzanian Parliament, to be enshrined in law. so are we waiting on the resumption of parliament ?
RE: Interesting read from 11th Dec if not already seen8 Jan 2020 12:12
well i'm pretty sure Magufuli will see the merits of having the PSA review completed and oil/gas exploration restarted before 2020 Election campaigning begins ?
hmm, well i'm defiantly not going to say it won't, but I would be surprised if it did, but in saying that, I have to say that I been surprised before by the share price : )
