With AI taking ever more jobs, then Lloyds is going to struggle with its huge market share of mortgages, which, when people are made unemployed, or as many are, underemployed, merely doing a few short hours a week to claim full benefits, and getting the state to part fund mortgage and rent, then even the 'employed' figures need looking at more closely to see just how many so called workers FULLY pay their way in life now and not end up taking far more out in rent / mortgage help, child universal credits, etc than they will ever pay in. The numbers would be shocking.

So whilst not the only issue for the UK and thus Lloyds, to not end the truly never ending arrivals, adding hugely to financial cost, the extra drain on energy, water consumption and treatment, housing stock, the further ruination of our precious countryside and the huge amount now of the most vilest of crimes filling our prisons and adding billions to their care and then forcing the state to fund their often scattered next generation criminal clones is more than foolish; it is criminal.

Obviously adding more poor to an impoverished society will only add to it's woes, as it doesn't level up society, but levels the indigenous and those earlier working decent arrivals living standards eventually down.

Whilst no politician dare say it how it is, watch the Reform results in elections soon, and their gain will be most telling, but few will admit the reason why, especially the current Gov and their blinkered ardent supporters , but they will know why.

So watch Lloyds ebb away in tandem with the UK's future.

But my valid point being that as both NWG and Lloyds have risen this last year, and with Lloyds dribbling out the dividend to say it is progressive, rather than paying a far higher dividend now, could seemingly be the reason why investors would prefer NWG over Lloyds.

Both have risen a great deal, both doing buybacks, and having a progressive divi, is just drip feeding instead of paying a decent percentage to investors now.

Whilst banks who pay the highest rates do so to attract investors, then for those requiring an income stream, clearly many will opt for the higher yield div, especially in uncertain times politically where if, as we hope Reform do well in by elections, the fake shock, used to drop banking shares on the news, by having a higher div yield will go some way into cushioning the no doubt falling share price in banking stock.

Even a donkey would prefer a full carrot rather than it being diced up and only promised a slightly larger portion over upteen years.

So I can see why you choose not to re invest here after the 14% drop but to NWG which likely due in part to it's generous dividend has and will rise far more than if you had bought back in here.

So not insulting you, but praising your selling timing and decision to back a leaner less PC steed.

Unless Europe increasing spending on defence instead of squandering its hard won wealth on being nice to our own and now the planets nere do wells, then Cornwall having the tuppeny nudger machine tilted on a warm Summers eve will be the least of our concerns.

Sadly, perhaps only a true war will end the decline of Western cultures should the victor take a different view of whom it prefers to rule. The loyalty of those to fight in a war for the land they chose to merely arrive in, to take from, would be as likely as expecting a thief to wipe their shoes before breaking in to your home.

Lloyds advantage gone, what with NWG having now increased its div by 50% and buy buying into wealth management, along with buybacks, unlike Lloyds who merely gave 15% uplift in div, a buyback and spending on housing those of whom many will rely on the state to fund their rent, but will be smart enough to sue when their dna damages the lifts, falls from the building etc etc.

No wonder Lti never re invested here. He is wise to have backed another horse.

The UK needs to cut the spending on those who will only ever take, not add to HMG coffers, and with Labour they only concentrate on distributing others wealth not creating new revenue. Easiest thing in the world, to spend others money.

I see Lti has turned to the dark side, or at least spent a wedge on buying into Natwest. I was considering doing so too, as great results despite having risen a lot as Lloyds have done to, BUT upping their dividend by 50%, not a miserly 15% as Lloyds did.

So I don't blame Lti, but the thing is, he always defends Lloyds blowing a fortune on buybacks and derides more spent on div's, yet he has recently rid himself of many Lloyds shares, and bought into a now 6% paying UK banking stock, instead of this laggard.

Perhaps in his curt insulting way he may enlighten as to why he sees NWG as a better play than here, or are divs the lure which I always said they would be IF Lloyds upped theirs. Two ways to up the div yield, ONE to pay out more hard won cash to shareholders, OR take the Lloyds route and do little and allow the share price to fall and, in doing so, the yield rises to encourage in more mugs for the long slow, painful climb back up as inflation not progress makes the shares more costly to buy.

Harley, I grew the opposite end in size of toms last year, the most tasty and very prolific, yet small were Crokini toms. F1 and late blight resistant which is important as nothing worse than waiting for months expecting a bumper harvest only to watch the lot shrivel and fall. Bit like Lloyds shares. Expect NWG to recover somewhat later whilst we plunge ever lower with a few days little blips up to keep the buyers mopping up the wiser's cast offs, wrongly assuming that the worst is over.

I guess once the div yield drops below what an average bank account will pay, without the risk of having your capital taken after a share has risen so much that there is no legs left in it, it is inevitable.

Question is, how low will this go below the long awaited but short live £?

Think the PM question mark is being used as the excuse to drop this back where it belongs, not fully the reason.

As with most large moves, the rise was overdone, as will be the fall.

Trend is your friend if a dealer and odd day ups and downs are just that, the exception not the rule.

I will hold but have seen paper profits fall by around 36k in a few days, and feel plenty more to come yet, but feel, not know.

A rise of 21% but having a spread of 8% on buying and the same on selling is hardly great for traders, gaining 5% but after fees and buyers tax still worse off.

Troublesome, most women know why such crimes have increased in recent years as do politicians, and voting Reform will do far more good to the long term growing problem than any wishy washy ineffective words that Labour spout.

Whilst prominent perpetrators of such vile abuse are highlighted by the media, the largest proportion of those committing these acts go unnamed and unknown to the wider public, despite the mental and physical damage being often more damaging.

Those old enough know this problem has grown rapidly in recent times, and not just because its reported more often. The festivals where the music appeals to differing sectors of society will show that female abuse rises greatly at some when it is far less at others.

As our prisons are now over filled with the worlds worst as well as our own, making new laws are ineffective when judges are pressured to give the lowest sentence feasible.

We need to castration to have a more effective deterrent, but now, even jail is seen by those not affected as a step too far, so girls and women go out far less harming our economy, ruining freedom for females and costing the UK a fortune in lost revenue and costly court cases just to see repeat offenders and new ones appearing on our streets daily.

Lets hope Lloyds makes a stand and refuses to house any Citra tenant who has been convicted of such vile offences. Doubt even a move like that will be allowed by the woke and Labour luvvies.

Had my doubts too and said the same thing on here. If you or I were on the board, adding a little more skin may give confidence and also draw in more or keep others from abandoning the ship. Perhaps directors would also be aware such an action will then ensure a very lucrative salary by dragging this out for a few more years, then if such. it would be money well spent.

Also, seems odd that a British group have discovered what is deemed significant wealth in the USA that was oblivious to the Americans. This seems unlikely and open to questions as to why they never researched the potential themselves being hardly short of hi tech, local knowledge, money etc.

Also, should the Brits have discovered what was under the Americans noses, then I wonder that if it is a good as they say it is, the Americans will throw as many obstacles in the way to ensue that they pressure the group to breaking point and keep all profits for themselves, by hampering loans, by imposing rules and laws to ensure that extraction is as costly and long winded as feasible to then get the company bought out for a song as they run out of money waiting.

So I hope that all the above is just irrational fear, but after seeing the share price plunge from many multiples of it's current price, still wonder if my gut feeling was correct. Whilst PM's and Copper may have risen dramatically, unless having any to sell, not in tiny fragments buried withing millions of tons of rock and earth, then the costs are growing but the income is still non existent. Debt is expensive and more so the longer this is dragged out.

My gold Sov is worth £800 ish, but should I choose to grind it into tiny fragments, placing each fragment in a lump of rock, and scatter those rocks over acres and bury it under tons more debris, I doubt you would give me a pound for the license to find it, despite 'certainty it is out there' especially if you had to jump through lengthy hoops to obtain permission and to gain the funds from others when more interested parties to extract the wealth can pull strings harder.

I guess if the new skin is because the board feel certain or more confident funding is coming soon, then we will all be happy and singing from the same hymn sheet, juries out until then from me.

Re posted as at the time, when I questioned the motive of the board buying more, I was just insulted so seems I was right, their skin in the game counts for nothing. Likely the Americans will snap it up on the cheap after toying with the dim limey's, who in turn have used shareholders cash to ensure a good few years of lucrative salaries and perhaps more invisible earnings.

IF any poster truly thought they would be making 50 to 100% on this share in a day, then they would be wise to have kept quiet, and just borrowed or stole to buy as many as they could before the price doubled.

So sounds like someone is desperate to get mugs to buy in, in the vain hope it will lessen their loses when they exit.

That or it is a kindly soul wishing strangers good fortune.
