Two main ways too short a stock

Stock borrowing offered by some agents at a costs and you have to deliver collateral vs shares. You then physically sell them in hope of buying back. The loan can be called back at any time so you need to have a back up if the stock can’t be loaned again so you’d physically have to buy the stock in and take the p&l at that time.

Alternatively via a derivative - buy a put option which gives the buyer the option sell them @ the strike price within the contract term….. if the price drops you sell them at the higher price and buy in @ a lower price and take the difference in the price sell and buy price… if the shares rise however above the strike price then the option expires and you lose your fee element

Doesn’t all businesses have their work cut out? Greggs are innovative and provide exceptional quality value overall and are managing well in what has been a negative period for the economy and Greggs lesser funded client base. All is pretty solid in my eyes and with diversification and well positioned stores, they will go from strength to strength. Too many negative people here. If you don’t rate them find a board where you can glorify your investment! More bought today and I will continue to add up to £17 and wait for my £28 windfall plus dividends!
