I mean i could understand if they came back and said we need short term funding of £20m because something got overlooked, but £300m??? With that amount they would have known about it around November, so gave a false RNS before christmas, sayong everything was cool.

Stock- you bought the stock knowing full well the current situation. You only bought Thursday and nothing has changed has it, the company still needs funding. Thats is a pure gamble. It's the long term holders that have been shafted here, with false information and dodgy accounting practises.

IsolatedBod-This is my point. It would have been nice to know when it was happening, rather than CLLN saying everything was well with the lenders, no mention of additional funding, just before Christmas, and then all hell breaks loose in the new year. If people had known about the goverment planning for Collapse, then no one would have taken December's statement at face value, and would have given people more time to decide.

Illbetabuck- there will still ve job losses, all is not safe which is why i said the majority would ve in my post. For example the back office functions will be the first to get hit by job losses, as the incoming company will have their own to utilise and therefore not pay for duplication. Management roles are probavly another layer to get hit again due to duplication. However there unlikely to be msjor or if any at the contract level, as these are the people bringing in the money...

This is what i read a few days ago. Fir example yhe prison service has already drawn up a plan to bring the services back in house. This has sneakily been happening in the last 5-6 weeks, with not a hint to the public.

I'm not sure about the exact detail woth JVs, but normally when FM contracts go from X to Y, all them employees go across to the new provider. This is down to manpower and contractal obligations. For example you can't send any old cleaner/account manger/PM to a MOD site, it has to be someone that holds security clearance snd has been vetted. Thos process take time and costs alot of money, hence it's easier and quicker to TUPE soneone who has this and is familar witb day to day ops.

D4E will happen regardless. Net debt us already at 925mil with this loan taking that to over 1.2bn, unless we get a miracle, or the company start collecting cash on time. I'm not sure why they decided to keep the Candian business which was apparently worth 250mil. It might be a profitable business, but cash is what this company needs at the moment and no one will be interested in the loss making/poor priced contracts.

Taz- Personally i think there should be positives for the majority of the workforce either way. If the worst did happen, these services still need to be delivered so staff may judt be TUP'd to another provider. I don't see the British and Canadian goverments having 43000 people on standby, to turn up to work tommorow if this goes down, not to mention all the bad press they have for awarding the company work, hence it's in their interests to save Carillion for now.. The banks are all too aware of this, hence playing hard ball. You don't see them asking for such guarantees when other big companies go bust

In my opinion the outcome for the workers (not all) should be positive either way as if the worst did happen, someone still has to deliver theses critical services so they may just be TUPE'd to another provider. Yes seems to have risen over 400% is a year, that is some serious growth. Did they go through any restructuring/placings, or was it just asset sales and trade your way out of it? Just intrigued to know...

Illbetabuck- i agree we are unlikely to see this trade even if they were given the funding to continue operationally as a company.... I've resigned myself to this anyway whether it happens or not, rather than ve disappointed tommorrow. But you never know the market is full of surprises sometimes, however it certainly won't be trading at 40p like some here have mentioned One thing I will take away from this experience is the fact that if media speculation goes in your favour, take your money and run, do not wait for a RNS to confirm.If i had sold out City AM issued the bull×××× about the buyer back in September, i would have walked with a £2500 profit, as opposed to an £18k loss. Nice to see you on hear too, I thought i was the only one invested in both Carillion and IRV and had a shock last quarter as they both flopped lol... Hopefully the upside here should make up for the pain in CLLN

I think IRV have a solid chance of recovery, although the sitiation is bad, no where near as bad as CLLN where i have also invested. My average is IRV in £2.93, so still along way to go but will get there eventually. Once they have recovered money from the EFW contracts, this will shootup. The litigation process is currently ongoing... Good luck all.

Given brexit will apparently save £350m a week, it's just a week's saving for HMG to sort this out lol I bet we pay per week in benefits to scroungers from the EU. But just like it was suggested yesterday, Carillion like to have high interest money from the banks rather than Shareholder money, hence a right issue was done in the Summer. In the same respect HMG rather look after foreign criminals than it's own people, who have funnily enoigh contributed to the treasury. Let's face it MP's have been and are still abusing taxpayer's money for personsl gain,so their comments don't hold water. All my opinion and good luck everyone....
