Meta I totally agree with regards to the bonuses, but unfortunately that's part of the package in these jobs and not limited to IRV.
If we look back people like Philip Clarke made £10m from his departure despite overseeing a £262m scandal, Antony Jenkins walked with around £28m even though he failed at Barclays, Fred Goodwin walked away with £5m cash and a £750000 a year pension even though he was at the helm of RBS which posted a 24bn loss and bought the british economies on it's knees. More recent examples include Richard Howson and co rewarded for leading one of thr biggest companies in the UK to collapse.
There are many more examples, but you see where I'm coming from. At least no one is currently being awarded for failure at IRV, and these packages have to put on the table to recruit the necessary talent to turn the ship around. So far I think Debbie is doing the right things, but time will tell if it's having a positive impact on the company. If in 6 months time we are still getting bad news, then alarm bells will definently been ringing.
I don't get too excited by Director buys either, you only have to look at likes of Carillion and Howson was buying shares right up until the end, but like you say it's not their money. However it does create a certain degree of confidence, but doesn't mean you stop doing your own due diligence.
