OSF your first thoughts are correct. Usually info is drip fed to the market for the sp to rerate, this would have many benefits with one being that some shareholders can exit at a price closer to the sale figure if they needed to.

As it stands, a massive arbitrage opportunity exists if some of the figures are to be believed. At say £1 bid the potential buyer can have a related party buy 1% of the shares at 26p instead of the final bid and save circa 20m. Hedge funds would be all over this.

Crabby, it does raise the question of why the shareholders have been kept in the dark.

Imo if material info on reserves and economics is available shareholders deserve to know. Maybe then the market would value the sp accordingly.

But at the of issuing shares the MI need to know what the buyout price will be and be on board with it and be happy with having shares instead. So the negotiations have to happen anyway.

Can see what you are getting at but doesn't work for full buyout. Additional 150m shares would cost the buyer exactly the same as paying the minority directly. No need to add a step.

However, it could be possible if eua want to mine the whole region themselves . They pay the MI in shares below perceived market value. But the MI then get a share of the wider company growth prospects.

Half truths as always. What would be more accurate is to show the split between active and tracker funds in the list. I make the split 1/3 active 2/3 tracker.

If you don't understand the difference, the latter do not have a view and have to buy and hold regardless. These are the funds that have been adding. T-Rowe price one of the few active funds actually reduced its net position by 1.5%.

For clarity, resource is 2moz. 13moz still to be recognised officially. The remaining is a joint venture that still needs to be instigated and paid for.

Pgm prod 2020: 2moz+
Ebitda 2020: $1.8bn
Cash 2020: $220m
Dividend 2020: $680m

And the kicker, PGM resource of 300moz

More likely is they will issue equity to a "strategic partner" they did this with Queed a while back. Or they will issue shares in return for a portion of MT flanks.

MT and WK could quite likely be sold with an option on the rest.

The theory of issuing shares to buy out MT and WK does not work. Firstly, the buyer would buy them out for cash if they are at the table.

Secondly, if some of the sale predictions are to be believed, even at a pound the raise will be more than the share price meaning that the dilution will be crazy.

Recognised Reserves are only 2moz. 15moz if you include the flanks. No details of category and if these are all economically minable. Even with 100% palladium we are no where near your quoted figure.

The JV is not even paid for yet. And again no details of the classification and costs. There is an reason why the sp is at the current level. The market needs more information and can't rely on the psychics on this BB.
