Is precisely the question. Along with ‘how long will the Omani bureaucracy machine take to dream up an outrageous number?’ I expect a minimal, possibly -ve SP impact today for those reasons. “Delighted” my backside, to paraphrase Jim Royal.

Still no idea if/when we’ll be mining in Oman, and now the goalposts have been moved a bit. Not really convinced that DA is “delighted” with this news...

I think a fair number of us here were tempted in by the Oman story, and it’s potential to both deliver dividends and support work in Moz. Mid tier copper producer was definitely the story.

This has dropped lately. What did I miss? Not seeing an RNS published since I last checked in, only the NOMAD’s puff piece.

SP isn’t changing because this is the price the market thinks is correct. That’s how markets work.

Any reason why we’d pay $300k for something in Oman that isn’t worth anything and which we’re trying to get rid of? Will the Omani’s only grace us with the generosity of taking that off our hands if we give them the full monty?

I think one of the reasons the SP isn’t comparing favourably against other companies with seemingly less going for them has got to be Oman. It’s an embarrassment. A host of LTH invested in SAV long before the lithium play on the promise of becoming a mid tier miner and it’s now been written off - valued at 0.5p. It’s a major drag on SAV’s credibility and the current review - with no planned end date - is very poor. We need it resolving so we can judge whether the Omanis have ripped us off or if DA has messed it up. The Portugal updates selling the story of unlimited potential and riches are virtually cut n paste RNS’s, with the word ‘copper’ replaced with the word ‘lithium’. It’s hard to believe the story yet.

So, we’re offloading Oman. Sell a copper mine (to the Omanis), at well below value because the jurisdiction (Oman) is ridiculously bureaucratic. I bet they’re digging all that secret gold out of the ground within nano seconds of handing us a few bob for the asset. FS study in Portugal due “H2” - given that H2 starts in a fortnight I think we can assume we’re looking at the end of the year. If it was close to completion it’d have been easy to say Q3.

Why does it matter who asks? As long as someone asks. It’s a fair question, although I agree there’s a less aggressive way to ask it than in BB language. There’s no shortage of frustrated investors who bought into the Oman prospect at these prices long before lithium was on the table. And it wasn’t just those with trifling amounts, some with notifiable holdings bought into Oman as well. Then we snapped up Finland prospects which got raved about. Another portion of jam tomorrow that’s been swept under the carpet. And remember the Bergen fiasco? We’ve got history of poor judgement but no history of delivery on the promises that matter.

“Portugal is not Oman, stupid comparison to make.” Last time I checked it was one company handing out production timelines, not the countries themselves. Seems like a perfectly good comparison to make. SAV’s production forecasts have not once been accurate. And when questioned on it, shareholders get fobbed off. Maybe at the AGM someone will actually ask how we can have confidence in the Portugal production estimates when the Omani ones are as inaccurate as it’s possible to be.

Portugal production estimated to commence end of 2020, early 2021. Can’t remember when Oman was scheduled to start producing. End of 2016 I think. Currently expecting to wait up to one more year for that. Not sure if we can rely on estimates for Portugal.

You may be right, M96, and he has submitted everything. It may well be the Omanis faffing around under their scheme for supposedly accelerating the granting of licences (what a joke). But he could at least set out what he’s doing e.g has a progress report been requested? What was the response? When something is sooooooo far overdue it’s not unreasonable to ask why and to explain to your investors why. Instead DA has shown an absolutely shabby and dismissive attitude towards shareholders, and is instead endlessly spouting the end of the Portugal rainbow story. There’s a lot of us here, including you, who invested on the back of the Oman prospect long before lithium was a thing, and I for one am feeling mugged off. Credibility is plummeting here. If you’re already 3 years late on one ‘transformational’ project, what expectations can you have for something that’s not even planned to deliver for another two years?

DA has noted it would be reasonable to wait another year for an RNS re mining in Oman. Looking like he’s sacking off that work altogether, tbh..
