RE: Interesting trades18 Nov 2022 11:09
Good God, there has been some guff:
"Genuine question, would OPTI really be moving stock in 5k and 10k tranches? Apart from one or two 100k sells, most of what we have seen in the last couple of weeks have been 5 and 10 k at a time."
"All buys today including 2 reasonable sized ones and price goes down yet has been creeping up on very low volume."
If investor x wants to sell 100,000 shares and investor y and z want to sell 20,000 each, barring a specific instruction given to the broker, the two 20k trades will settle at whatever price is agreed for each separate trade. If the price is below the prevailing price, the share price goes up, if the price is below the prevailing price, the share price goes down. If investor x held >=5% of issued shares before the transaction, the 40k disposal will be reported within the 3 business days
The remaining 60,000 shares will likely remain as an open order. Again it will be up to the broker exactly how this is done - it could well be split up it into different orders of different quantities at different prices
