The largest shareholder is restructuring its shareholding and I believe, floating in its own right
Swiss banks act as custodian for their clients and so any individual owning shares via accounts at Lombard will be shown as a Lombard Holding, when the reality is they are just the custodian.
As all of the stocks linked to CIP have large investment from Lombard Odier, we can assume that the BOs of CIP bank at Lombard, and hold their stocks in this way. I am 100% certain that Lombard itself is not investing in these stocks within their managed funds.
The one thing that I am not clear on is income versus cost. We seem to have significant income being generated on a monthly basis. Is this income enough to run the production, pay the salaries, service the debt and even start repaying debt? If not, I am not sure where we go from here? The only way to expand would be to make new discoveries (it doesn't seem we are doing any exploration?), or acquire new assets, and as we don't have the funds for acquisitions, I guess it will mean borrowing more?
Any knowledge anyone has on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
Based on these results, I make out the current PE to be approximately 1. Surely some significant upside due on this one?
It seems to me that so many investors have been stung by this group of companies (anything with the involvement of JP) by which I mean Echo, Sound and Coro, that they have now lost all confidence. A lot of people (myself included) are sat on huge losses. Ultimately, this is an exploration company, and since I have been invested (many years), they have zero successes in the field.
Martin seems to be very competent and doing a good job with the resources at his disposal - after all, he has done well to keep the company in business. But the reality is, unless we make a significant discovery, these kind of deals are not going to attract new investors. The risk/reward pay off is just not there. I would also like to see MH put his money where his mouth is and buy a few shares.
As I am sat on a 90% loss, this is simply the equivalent of an option for me now. No point selling at these levels. Sh*t or bust!
GLA
Good news. I’m surprised this stock hasn’t garnered more attention on these message boards. If testing continues throughout the year (and currently I see no reason why it will not), revenue will be in the region of £160-£180 million. Good potential for upside on this one.
For clarification. I think It is likely that the Lombard Odier position is simply private investors holding via their Lombard custodian accounts in Switzerland. Ive see this quite often. It is probably the Israeli majority shareholders who hold their shares in this way. Cheers all
One other thing to add to the Qiagen deal. They have been in talks since November regarding a takeover.
I hope nobody thinks I am deramping, nor ramping for that matter. I am just trying to remain factual so that PIs can filter out most of the unhelpful noise that is flowing through this board.
If anybody has a sensible question to ask or comment to make, please go ahead.
Oh my god, please everybody. Do some research. Qiagen is a huge company that has annual revenues of 1.6 billion dollars, PRIOR to the test coming on the market. It also has cash in the bank of $753mio.
You simply cannot compare the two.
All this should tell you is that the market is far more competitive than you realize, and that there are far bigger, more powerful companies out there who also have accurate tests.
Don't worry about it Ant. Those who stick their heads in the sand and only listen to what they want to hear will come a cropper sooner or later. If not on this share, it will be on the next one. Amateurish investing.
BATM is a totally different proposition to Novacyt. BATM is targeting the long term game. A multi use testing platform that will be ready for distribution next year. It has no play for the current epidemic we are seeing.
Novacyt on the other hand has a valuation based almost exclusively on one product. The test for CORVID-19.
The stark reality is that once the virus has gone, the share price of Novacyt will revert to a more realistic level (whatever that may be). I am not saying there is not further upside, but lets be honest, its a one trick pony, and most upside will be by excited PIs getting dragged into the Momentum Trap.
I have just bought some more myself on this drop with the sole intention of trying to skim 10-20% of the top. this share is great for traders.
GLA but stay alert and don't get dragged in by the hype. Stick to the facts.
Well actually no, it was a gamble. It was far from clear that markets would take such a hit. After all, most of the downside is from collective panic rather than actual economic impact. Furthermore, recovery could come so fast, you wont have chance to get back in. Once you add in trading costs, spread etc, it make far more sense to simply hedge your portfolio in such an event (which you could remove at any time), rather than selling the entire lot and reinvesting somewhere else.
Whilst it worked out for you on this occasion, jumping in and out wholesale like that will hurt you. Nobody can time the market so specifically. I say it not as a criticism, just some friendly advice :)
Congrats anyhow
What are you talking about???! They are different companies! It’s not all about this this single product! BATM is a profitable company, with a much bigger asset base. The two numbers are totally incomparable. I suggest you stick to a post office account as you clearly WAY out of your depth.
Let’s stick to facts eh. The official “fast track procedure” is 60 days.

No, they are up 27.14%.

Agree. I would have thought they would be bringing out sales numbers on a daily basis. This is after all the most significant event in the company's history. By staying quiet, investors cannot accurately assess the opportunity. It means that there is going to be one of two events. On good news, a huge pop. On bad news, a collapse back to 20p. I fell like I'm in a casino at the moment.
