The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
I'm not expecting an announcement to mark the end of the 90 days. It's already clear that DD and negotiation of the JV doc are running concurrently. We'll get news when it's finalised.
To me it implies that they won't be in a hurry to relist until they have some blockbusting news to release at the same time, in order to boost the SP over the 5 days from relisting.
It was announced, on 21st July, only 2 weeks ago: "The Company is on track to increase its primary flake graphite production capacity in Madagascar to 30ktpa by September 2022." Surely we shouldn't expect daily or weekly updates saying "still on track."
Because to start with people believed him.
I could write an essay on this. Instead, I suggest you google RM interviews over the last 5 years or so; you'll find there are plenty. Pick one and listen, and then see if what he said was going to happen in 1, 3, 6 months or whatever actually happened......
I seem to remember there was some pretty desperate trolling/deramping just before the good news landed in May; then they all went quiet for a while. Perhaps it's a good omen.
Similarly this article by Tom Stevenson in today's Telegraph: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2022/07/21/coming-commodities-super-cycle-will-make-savvy-investors-rich/ It probably won't open as it's subscribers only, but basically saying the recent drop in commodity prices will be very temporary.
It's a mystery. We should watch out for replacements; it's a bit like the many headed hydra.
Agree with all of that Fulmar, but although we won't know the grades it's quite likely that word will leak out if drill cores are looking good, so a good chance of a building SP before the big news actually lands.
Manx: Arc since Dec 2017. A similar sized investment in PXC for about 3 years now, and a few in HZM. I held Bluejay for over 4 years and put more research into that investment than anything else I have held, but gave up over a year ago now (at a considerable loss) for the reasons that DG states.
Quite so SH. I'm not sure what sort of update piggy is expecting. Something along the lines of 'Arc would like to announce that we are 6 weeks into a DD period previously announced'? Fantastic!
I do think we need to bear in mind that AA obviously wanted this 180 day period; I don't suppose Arc asked for it. In my view we shouldn't expect anything in a hurry. As for what the SP will be by next week, a topic which piggy frequently refers to, I don't really care.
I can't think why there should be any update now. Perhaps at the end of the first 90 days.
I remember Nick saying in an interview a few years ago that drilling can be done in the wet season, the problem is moving the drill rigs along mud tracks.
Not really Kalasin. Tingo is about this: https://tingoinc.com/about/
From City a.m.: "The combined technology stack of both Tingo and MICT is expected to create one of the world’s leading fully integrated fintech platforms offering combined financial services, payment services, a comprehensive marketplace and an e-wallet, integrating the successful wealth management, share trading, and insurance offering capabilities of MICT, with the fintech and one-stop-shop marketplace capabilities of the Tingo platform."
The Telegraph article was mainly about Klarna, which provides a 'buy now pay later' service. Apparently they were worth $45bn at one stage last year; now only $15bn, and looking to raise another $500m. The article was arguing that technology doesn't really change the fundamentals when it comes to finance.
Yes, I've read it. It doesn't mention BOOM specifically, the headline says it all really.
Seis. This is very informative and of interest to anyone doing serious research on Arc. I occasionally post here, but more often on the blue channel. Are you happy for me to post your blog there, and perhaps have it included in the header?
Pre pandemic the company were in the habit of announcing dividends around the end of April, most notably in 2018 when they paid a whopping 12c per share. I'm not expecting that sort of amount, but I wonder if we might see something worthwhile soon.
Foneworkshop: possibly fatboy1nc who posts on the other board and who I know has been invested for many years. He has done some pretty detailed research on the parties involved in the recent legal issues.
Does anyone here know for certain what information (if any) has to be released by way of RNS whilst the shares are suspended? The only news we've had is the appointment of finncap. Results are due soon too.
I'm thinking if there is no requirement to release news now, we could be in for a bumper roundup of news on progress when trading restarts.
Don't forget Don Bailey. He's a friend of Arc and Rio. He stepped down from the Arc board in Sept last year and would be perfectly free to speak to Rio about Arc's assets. Obviously not negotiating on behalf of Arc as that would breach the EA, but giving them an overall picture and putting them in a good position once the EA ended in July.
