This is a reasonably level headed assessment of where we are atm: https://www.livewiremarkets.com/wires/graphite-stocks-surge-amidst-china-s-export-curbs-does-the-rally-have-legs-to-run
I see that GROC put out an rns today on the China decision; their shares are up 13% as I write. GROC is a company with no money and years away from producing any graphite. It just brings home what a very attractive position TGR is in right now.
On 8th August they said 'the Company continues to engage in securing non-dilutive working capital arrangements to improve cash resources on the back of its strongly improving performance and order book' and 2 days later we had news of the prepayment.
Today they are saying 'To meet its needs for these developments and working capital requirements, TG has initiated engagements to obtain institutional debt finance.' It wouldn't surprise me if discussions are already positive.
How often do we see on these boards comments like "I wouldn't want to be out of this over the weekend", usually from rampers and short term traders. Could be an appropriate comment this time!

Sounds right to me. Hopefully we'll end up with a positive news story like this one today on the Ministry's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069261307422&_rdc=1&_rdr
Thank you both. Whatever the frustrations here, and I don't deny that there are some, I personally feel they are outweighed by the big picture. By that I mean that Arc set out to do a deal, specifically with AAL, probably 6 or more years ago. They have at least been consistent in working toward that, step by step, and are nearly there. Provided that is confirmed in the near future, I'd say NvS is nearer to hero than villain.
DG: I agree with some of what you say, but I have couple of observations. Re the options money, yes it's quite a chunk but we don't know how much of it they've had already. Remember it was to be spread over 3 years so I don't believe the whole lot is still outstanding.
On Botswana, it may be that the assays were unimpressive but whether or not that is the case they'd have had to fund any work this year. That would have meant more dilution and I guess they just took the decision to put Botswana on hold for the time being.
Looking ahead a bit, what if Anglo decide they don't want to share the Zambian assets? I doubt if they would buy Arc, because they would still have to make a separate deal with Kopara. They are more likely to buy Unico, leaving Arc with their interests in Botswana. That's when I could see Arc putting some serious effort into Botswana.
As far as the cash payments go, I'm still not convinced either way. Has Nick actually said we only get 67%? I don't believe the April RNS expressly says it. It talks about the formation of Unico and the respective shares of the JV and then goes on about 'related investments and cash payments' but it doesn't actually say those cash payments go to Unico. I'm prepared to be corrected on this, but I don't think it's clear.
Indeed Jeremiah, you'd almost expect some news relevant to AA might be announced prior to the webinar... We'll see
More about the Lobito corridor: https://www.eurasiareview.com/17092023-bidens-bri-moment-analysis/
I wonder if AAL might chuck a few quid in the kitty if everything goes to plan.
The wording of the RNSs seems pretty clear to me. The JV agreement is with Unico, but it is clearly stated that the cash is payable to ARC. On the other hand, DG is right about the comments in the interview. I feel a further RNS is needed to clarify, if ARC is not going to receive the full amount

This issue has been taking up a lot of time and energy of the ministry for a while. Perhaps they will have more resources to deal with matters of more direct interest to us now.
What about Rod M indeed. Reading the comments on here there are several credible theories about Dundas, the most positive being that they are in advanced discussions with another party which would explain the total silence on the issue. Whilst I don't rule that out, it just seems odd to me that there has gradually been less and less mention of the subject to the extent that now it doesn't even merit a mention in the notes 'about Bluejay Mining' at the bottom of the RNSs. I can't help wondering if Rod's exit was because it became apparent that Dundas wasn't the flagship asset to which he had tied his mast so to speak, either on grounds of quality, quantity, logistics or whatever. But if that were the case, surely the company would have to 'fess up'. I imagine we'll know the answer one way or another pretty soon.
As you say, not the main event for us, but for those interested: https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2023/08/30/2734230/0/en/Tingo-Group-Announces-Completion-of-Investigation-Into-Allegations-Made-Against-the-Company-in-Short-Seller-Report-and-Issues-its-Response.html
Does anyone know when the mining licensing committee next meets? Previous meetings have been in February, March (but I can't find the dates), then May 17-22, June 29/30, August 3/4. There doesn't seem to be a set pattern, although their website says it's monthly: https://www.mmmd.gov.zm/?page_id=1857
It seems to be roughly 5-6 weeks between meetings.
As we all know, the agreement signed on 20th April is subject to conditions precedent. that's why the money hasn't been paid.
That's not my reading of it. From the RNS of 12 May 2022:
Anglo American has the right to retain an Ownership Interest of 51%, by:
o funding exploration expenditures equal to USD 24,000,000 on or before the date that is 180 days after the third anniversary of the Effective Date ("Phase I End Date"); and
o making cash payments to Arc Minerals totalling up to USD 14,500,000, as follows:
§ USD 3,500,000 upon signing of the Joint Venture Documents ("Effective Date");
§ USD 1,000,000 on the first anniversary of the Effective Date;
§ USD 1,000,000 on the second anniversary of the Effective Date;
§ USD 1,000,000 on the third anniversary of the Effective Date; and
§ USD 8,000,000 by the Phase I End Date.
People like me who held JAY in the past based on the prospects of their 'flagship' Dundas project may be interested to read the notes at the bottom of the RNS. Until 31st July these notes always included a load of improbable waffle about optimisation studies and a Master Distribution Agreement with a major Asian conglomerate. Now, nothing at all. It's almost as if it's been erased from history.
True Jeremiah, although the allegations are generally rather vague and wouldn't (imo) reach the threshold for a defamation case. However I wonder if Donkey may be committing an offence under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. A successful prosecution would have to demonstrate a course of conduct (at least 2 instances). I could go on at length, but suffice it to say there are remedies in both criminal and civil law.
CPS guidance on the issue specifically mentions that 'Stalking or harassment can take place on the internet and via other technologies. This is sometimes known as "cyberstalking". This can include the use of social networking sites, email, chat rooms and other forums facilitated by technology. The internet can be used for a range of purposes, for example:
.........damaging the reputation of the victim....' etc
I reckon Nick would have a good case, but I daresay he's quite busy and can't be bothered with extra trivia.
