Good morning Newyorker. Apologies I didn't explain my previous post clearly. When I suggested we may break even / turn a profit this year I was meaning 'calendar year', during 2014, not this current financial year. What are your thoughts regarding this timeframe ? Any others care to comment with regards the possibility, likelihood, that Optare will turn a profit during the course of 2014.

I am feeling very positive about Optare this year and believe 2014 will see the start of our upturn. The company has laid good solid foundations, has been very focused on reducing overheads and in my opinion will now focus its attention to growth. I believe we will receive positive news on many fronts. Orders from London operators for our Metrocity, further orders from FirstGroup and other operators. Double Decker launch in May which I expect will be a success. And then there's news from other markets such as Germany and Australia. I would love to see us 'break even' / make a profit this year ........ It is very possible we will ! How do other's see Optare's year panning out ? All comments welcome and appreciated.

I am also hopeful that we will receive an RNS shortly to announce that FirstGroup have placed a further order of 15 buses. We received a purchase order from FirstGroup in January for 6 electrical buses at a value of £1.5 million and it was then announced that Optare will be continuing discussions with FirstGroup regarding an order for a further 15 buses.

I am of the opinion we will receive a positive RNS very soon. We are due so much news on many fronts. We witnessed the SP rise last week before returning to its original level. I believe there is reasoning behind the rise that we are yet to discover. I am of the opinion we will receive positive news with regards the Optare Metrocity that is on trial with London Operator, London United, and I am hopeful the trials will result In orders. In October 2013 it was announced that Quality Line had placed an order for 12 Optare Metrocity's and these are due to be delivered early this year, so I expect we will hear soon with regards to this order being delivered.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and commenting on the question I raised with regards the Tax Rebate, very much appreciated. Buko, thanks for confirming how the rebate should / may enhance the SP. Very reassuring.

Buko, hope you don't mind I have a question with regards the potential tax rebate ( if/when we are in profit ) and would appreciate your thoughts as I can't quite get my head around the impact it would have to the SP. The refund, 11.85 million, would be more than double our current market cap. I see a refund, as effectively receiving cash. If our market cap was currently 11.85 million with the amount of shares we have in circulation our SP would be approx 0.53. Therefore, and this is what I really can't get my head around, could we expect the rebate to add 0.53 to the share price ? I'm not sure that is exactly how it works and I would really appreciate your view point. Any one else like to comment please do, I would really value others opinions. Thanks

Etienne are you still around ? I have a question regarding Optare and the possibility of a Tax Rebate. From memory you are a retired accountant who's posts I always valued. I know you have not posted for some time but if you are still around and wouldn't mind I would really appreciate your thoughts as you may know the answer to my question. I seem to recall reading somewhere that if / when Optare hit profit they will be entitled to a £9.4 Million tax rebate. Does this sound plausible or have I dreampt that ? All comments welcome on this one.

Unfortunately I am not a new investor here. I say unfortunately, not because I don't believe in OPE, but because I got in far too early on this one. You've been here a while Superhoop, I read all posts regularly. My first buy in was 27th April 2012, as I'm sure you are aware the SP was a lot higher then, I paid 0.744. I originally thought this would take off because of the Government funding and the emphasis on the UK going 'Green' (I still think it will). In fact within just a week of me buying in I could have sold out and made a couple of grand, but I don't buy into shares looking to make 10% ( that should tell you how much my initially investment was). I have not sold a single share, in fact I have added over the past two years. I have a considerable paper loss at the moment, but that is exactly what it is, a paper loss. I am fortunate that I do not need the money tomorrow and therefore all that has changed for me here Is the timeframe. I will not lie, this share has been ......... 'Character building' for me. Do I see myself ever recovering my money ........yes. Do I see myself actually making a profit .......... Yes. If i didnt I wouldn't still be here, I am not scared to make a loss if it benefits me in the longer term. I may have to trade this to bring my avg down quicker or I may sit it out. I cannot and wiIl not make that decision until facts present themselves in the form of officially news, RNS's. I think the Hinduja Brothers will definitely turn this company around and turn it into a profit making company. In fact I have no doubt in that. The Hinduja Brothers are extremely successful as I'm sure you are aware, and that was another key reason I invested in Optare. I have read a lot about the Hinduja Brothers and admire what they have achieved, which hasn't happened overnight ! I am In sales and marketing but not connected to the bus industry. I have the same business ethics as the Hinduja Brothers. If you haven't already, have a little read and look at their website, www.hindujagroup.com. I found it very interesting, and a good way of settling the nerves in times of need !

Either an orchestrated pump & dump or an RNS has been logged. I think its the latter. If it was a P&D we would have seen the SP rise substantially more than we did today.

I've just had another nibble, added just over another million. Just wish my previous purchase for 2.7 million was at this price !

I'm just wondering, if Jorma sold all 8 of those buses in the first 6 months and then spent the following 2 years playing Doodle Jump !

Newyorker, I don't understand why your post sounds so negative. If you are saying Jorma has sold 8 buses in two & half years, that's not bad. I'm in sales and he has sold more than I have in the past two years or so ....................... Mind you, I'm not in the Bus Industry !
