RE: Something to liven up a quiet Saturday12 Mar 2023 11:00
I am certainly NOT trying to find some weird justification to buy in, actually quite the opposite given the smoke and mirrors and lack of trust from 25th Jan and war over splitting in the boardroom, 75%??
IF, and a very big if, the company openly ditched ESG and therefore decoupled from Blackrock ideology, like a lot of major sovereign, and pension fund investors are doing, then it could come back on the radar. But a lot of other things like the anti-split component of the board resigning (which I believe is only a small but very autocratic minority) will have to happen too. You should never invest in a company with opposing strategies in the boardroom. It never ends well.
Let's face it, IF a sale of assets is back on the cards, that is a major U turn from explicit statements made before. In fact a clarification RNS might be due tomorrow.
