On the existing small day rise, it amounted to no more the a 1.5% rise which was quickly consumed and reversed. So dial it down a bit, or you are simply going to be deeply disappointed again and find yourselves hurling nasty insults and being extremely aggressive to complete strangers YET AGAIN who aren't joining in with the hysteria. The number of flights isn't going to return to full as BA gears up to a summer schedule next year as stated this morning. Yes, it is an important news event, but no there isn't an instant fix to a knackered industry full of knackered airlines.

Anybody with any knowledge of psychology can spot the displacement behaviour a mile off. A lot of you are absolutely bricking it. You are terrified the peak is being topped out. Don't worry, it will very slowly increase in fits and starts over a year. If you can wait that long for maybe 20%, good for you, but if you are going to track the sp all day everyday for 12 months you'll have a very distressfull year. Day traders will double and triple and more their stake money over that time period, whilst also dining out on it.

The correlation again with a news event and corresponding instantaneous sp into the skies I fear is going to lead to yet another disappointing day, more anger and more nasty insults being thrown at the strangers that are more cautious or are getting better returns elsewhere.

Making money out of the stock market is relatively straightforward as long as you invest 55 seconds out of every minute looking for what could negatively impact a sp and being ready to step in quickly and cash in, and 5 seconds looking for an opportunity. Once in a share 55 seconds should be spent watching like hawk for sell signals. That is why all my observations are looking for the pitfall, looking for the dodgy variable, looking under the stones. 5 seconds on the positives, 55 seconds on the negatives. Every minute of every analysis. That is how you make money.

I am expecting sharp sp drops as news events happen, anything that appears to have a negative impact on travel, and the IAG ii shareholders will be more trigger happy than others due to the debt mountain consideration. That will be the volatility day trade opportunity, then cash in a few days letter on the bounce back. Whether there is general upward drift overall is irrelevant as the gain in sp increase over 6 months could be earned in less than a fortnight with a bit of decent bad news days and quick rebounds. I do think IAG is going to be the most volatile day trader now the financing is know about.

And as any half decent trader will tell you in the city, businesses do not set up billion credit lines if they don't have plans for it. It is there to cover something that has been calculated and factored in. The company finances will therefore be talked of and assessed as if the facility had been used and the exposure that puts on the company. It doesn't matter what statements are made about not using it. All financial considerations made about IAG group and BA [fattened up for the spin off?] will treat the credit as if it has been drawn down. It would be reckless not to do so.

My other shares are doing very nicely thank you. I will be dipping in and out of IAG over the next couple of months for short periods of times looking for 5% here and there on a compound basis. I will not be chasing rainbows though. Plain cold hard real world facts.

Operations to commence in April, lot of lead costs in the meantime. Good job there is an additional billion squids to draw on!!!! The there is the AIr Europea to pay for. All on credit. Bad links, but the pandemic is over in a number of places already due to vaccination programs. It is now for the most part another flu with the same prospects and chances. What is missing from the daily stats, is how many people are dying or hospitalised form other ailments. Covid would be put in perspective if compared to other common illnesses. The US is predicting it will stasis in January, couple of months behind us and EU, more behind with SEA. Australia and New Zealand yet to go through it in full and catch up. Africa and Latin America a while to go to reach the same state. Something like that.

Coming out of the pandemic and the lockdowns and so on is going to mean significant change for some and relinquishing power for others. It is therefore not going to be a simply flick of the switch. Look at how the mask lobby and their key supports in mass media like the BBC jump on any data to try and get the comfort blanket back. It is over for the most part, we have a new nasty little bug to live with, just like all the other nasty little bugs. Kids will be jabbed in school as a routine in years to come to control it, just like with all the other bugs. Until the next flesh eater comes along and is highly contagious.....

Maybe all those advanced sales persuaded Pfizer to stop its own trials. So the trial results are only partial and, if allowed to run the full time span, the results might look different as recoveries were shown not to be valid over longer time periods. So was the pfizer rushed out headlines blazing because they were rapidly losing the market [again]? I can't see even emergency regulator approval this year or January next year so the 'game changer' bit is someway down the road.

This was the day before pfizer. Molnupiravir has less dose frequency and doesn't need to be taken with anything else, the pfizer has to taken more often and in parallel with a HIV drug [meaning much more expensive].

This why I find the explanation for travel stocks jumping up sharpley a bit curious and odd. It may have had a trigger effect in how the pfizer news was released, good PR, but molnupiravir should have also had a similar effect if it was the treatment aspect that was of value to the market.

There were already treatments for covid, the pfizer one is not new, so why it specifically is cited for the travel sector uplift I am not sure. I think it is possibly the way the american media responded to it.

It may also be some guru(s) talking about a stock switch as expressed in the article, from certain stay-at-home related stocks to travel related. iis can also be influenced! It could also be simply a lead institution making a switch of investments, and the herd following. So I think the pfizer news may have triggered some movement, but a cascade effect took hold on analysis already in the planning. Given the prevalence of existing treatments and the fact that another single pill treatment was announced the day before, I don't think the pfizer news is that important for the move to travel stocks - and that is important because it has to be considered whether this is part of a fundamental recovery or a temporary uplift due to a herd of iis and algorithms pointed i a certain direction. A transient wave in the market. Great to surf one, but the old golden rule should prevail, don't fall in love with the shares and if you expect to make money, cahs in and actually do it! If the sector is to be the iis focus for parting pis form their money for the next few months, it will go up and down many times.
