I would like to hope the seps are on a short lease. That shelling of the kindergarten needs some explaining. I do question, does Putin have control of the situation? It is assumed he has absolute authority. He is ex KGB, not ex military and wriggled into the politics. Is he being pushed, or is he pushing? Could he turn off the war tap, even if he wanted too?
Anyway, I am comfortable being out of maor stocks for the moment. I remember looking at my gains one Thursday last year when a variant known as Nu as renamed omicron. I paused, thought about elling as the new variant might cause some market wobbles, but did nothing. On Friday I watched all my stocks crash 15% in one go, lol. Not sitting on my hands with this one, whatever happens.

Whatever happens, a shell hit an occupied kindergarten. It doesn't matter who fired it, all on the ground will know what the target was and that was a deliberate act. The separatists downed a civie airliner last time so they have form in trying to stir things up. If this was not authorised by Moscow, then I expect Russian boots on the ground to get the seps under control. Otherwise you end up with another Balkans with the ranks making their own wars. The west may have to accept this. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Kremlin now, there must be some very angry generals at that rocket attack.

Is Putin moving as a politician to appease some in the military? It is one thing to expect civies to sue for peace, but military might sue for war over assumed threats and vengeance. Remember where WWII came from, Hitler feeling humiliated at the way he perceived Germany was treated at the end of WWI. When the generals of today's Russia were being schooled, what propaganda was in those textbooks. As with the brainwashing from birth you see in Argentina over the Falklands, N. Korea over the founding father, and in many other places. The move on the chess board to throw away a draw is illogical for a politician. Has power shifted in the Kremlin?

So, I want to hear the positive spin on shelling a kindergarten with 20 kids inside it.
