There is nothing of the sort in this story. It is a timely recap on the grain export mechanism to keep it working and a routine chat to see what options there are. Zelenski will say Russia troops off Ukraine land, Putin will say Ukraine must surrender, and nothing will happen.

There are no 'negotiations'. Putin had the option some time ago now to sue for negotiated peace where he may have even kept some sort of land corridor in the south.

But the nato weapons are no in Ukraine, Ukraine has no need to cede anything at all now. The west is digging in and expanding support, energy sourcing has flipped from Russia at an eye brow raising rate and major U turns on nuclear, coal and net zero are underway across the continent so nobody will be held to ransom during winter.

Russian army is actually being torn up all along the line of contact and deep behind the lines. And as Pandamonia refers, the modern nato it is only just getting started. Russia ad nothing but a fear factor. Turns out there is no armed force of any consequence.

I expected this to be over with Russia in retreat back to Feb borders, the separatists left to the mercy of a very angry Ukrainian army. I may be bring that forward to September as the generals simply can not sustain the extensive depletion of supply and men. When the Crimea Bridge is taken out, Crimea itself may have to be abandoned too!!

However, irrespective of when the war ends, irrespective of when/if sanctions end, the damage done to Russia in the business world means the only logical course of action is the same as so many other businesses have done or in the process. And it is best too for the Russians employed in those businesses, that is splitting businesses along jurisdiction lines. Russians will be taxed and levied to hell and back for the next couple of decades for this folly rebuilding what they destroyed, ironically mostly in areas they were supposed to be 'liberating'.

And then there will be a decade of war trials and detailing of the horrors the Russian army committed. Businesses globally will have another motivation to keep things arms length.

wrong katnip, the energy prices were already soaring due to covid zero policy in China reducing gas/oil industry use, the folly of printing money dating back to the credit crunch and then going mad with it during covid funding global furlough all contributing to large price predictions pre war. Putin took what he thought was going to be energy vulnerability and playing the zero carbon card against Europe also believing he had France and Germany in his back pocket as part of the anti-US new world order but got everything wrong.

The spot price was already jumping higher and then panicked believing all supply globally would stop.

The spot price is a futures market, not a current supply and demand like share price. Currently the bidding war to create the highest futures price for the headlines are simply bonkers at over £5000 per household energy bills. I doubt we will see anything like the £3000 predictions either, so it will settle back to a mere doubling and we will be great full. That is how all fuel and energy prices have been vastly overinflated to pay for all this zero carbon nonsense.

It has nothing to do with markets and is just part of the great climate change con which Putin thought he could use and it has backfired in a spectacular fashion. He has just thrown away a huge national income stream and left the country isolated and diminished.

Threads I make no comment on removed, noticeably anything containing non Kremlin views is removed whether it concerns POLY directly, indirectly, no matter how pertinent to the stock or current / future business policies of the company. If it doesn't toe the Kremlin line, it is being removed.

It is a war, not a 'special military operation' and that is why POLY should split so it is not seen to be associated with the terrorist action, in my opinion.
