Two broker downgrades in two days seems to be the reason why it’s still falling. Today’s is a price target cut from 575 to 425 by RBC.

I think I caught something on the early morning news that Simon Wolfson from Next, who is also a Lord has tabled a proposal to ‘faze in’ the governments NI increases. Some kind of amendment anyway. This could have a positive impact on many companies, including B&M…

You’re correct regarding the potential and the value here but unfortunately I think Nicks reply ‘ hits the nail on the head’. None of the value ever finds its way to the share price. And with zero divi and the board / family always finding a reason not to pay one it has become a pointless and frustrating investment.

If some of my other holdings do well this year I’m going to sell up (at a loss) because this has become ‘dead money’.

With higher inflation money is being seriously eroded here. It does seem silly selling something which looks cheap but this has been the case for a few years and nothing has happened.

I’m assuming that the rise here today is as a result of another set of decent results. I hope that it bodes well for the results here in a few months time.

I’m a little surprised to see the Richards Bay Coal price fall below $100 at the same time as the oil price makes recent highs (about $80 / barrel).

Liberia maintains but recommendation but reduces its price to 630p from 685p. I’ll take 630p!

I saw an article that said that due to the cold weather Europe was getting through its gas reserves at the fastest pace for 6 years.

Greggs, M&S, Tesco and B&M have all reported with profits and divis and they are all in the red today. The market can be very greedy at times, always wanting more than the year before. And when they don’t get it they get the red pen out!

The dollar is increasing in strength and BP report its earnings in dollars. Will this not flatter there earnings?
